2008 Dodge Grand Caravan

Recently, our lease was up on our Dodge Durango and Chrysler announced the end of the lease option.  Since we like to lease our vehicles, we were at a scramble to get in before the deadline.

After the fuel increase, we were looking for a vehicle that would be easier on gas (our Durango had a HEMI - yikes!) and could still hold a family of four who travel alot and need storage room.

My husband kept recommending the Dodge Grand Caravan but I couldn't see myself driving a minivan...yet.   After much debate and finally finding a RED one that I thought was pretty..I caved in and am now a proud Leaser of a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan.

My favorite feature:
Two TVs w/ separate DVD players!  No more fighting over what movie to watch!  With a 13 year old son and a 5 year old daughter, sharing the one TV was a hassle since their tastes in movies differ so greatly.  With the 2 TVs and separate DVD players, this is no longer a hassle.  They put on their headphones and all is quiet! YAY!

Other great features that we enjoy are:
1. Rear back up camera - Living in a busy neighborhood, I am always very cautious while backing out of my driveway.  The rear back up camera makes it so much easier for me to see who or what is behind me.

2.  Touch screen radio w/ Sirius Satellite Radio - This was an unexpected surprise.  My Durango had Satellite Radio and I became addicted and wanted to make sure that I could have that in this car, as well. What I didn't expect was a pretty cool, hi-tech touch screen radio.  It's easy to use and can also be controlled by buttons on the underside of the steering wheel.

3.  Storage space - We are a family on-the-go.  We travel alot for sports, leisure and to visit family.  We need storage space.  With the stow and go seating, we are offered even more space.  Under my daughters seat, we have a bag of things to do while in the car.  Under my son's seat we store our emergency first aid kit and other products that might be needed away from home.  Behind the 3 row of seats we have ample storage and those great hooks that you can hang your grocery bags from.

4. Automatic dual sliding doors w/ windows that roll down - This was a big plus for me.  I hate minivan doors that don't have the windows that roll down.  It's a little claustrophobic for me.  These windows roll down but not all the way.  Maybe this is to thwart the little ones from throwing their sippy cups out the windows?  Dunno, but I love them!

5. Comfortable, heated seats - I was a little spoiled with my Durango and it's leather heated seats.  Living in Michigan, heated seats are such a great luxury that I no longer want to live with out.  The seats recline giving the person behind you plenty of room to move. The third row seats also recline a bit which my son thinks is really cool.

There are alot of details about the Dodge Grand Caravan  that are great for families and I could go on and on.  I only listed my top favorites! :)

I'm a hockey, baseball, ballet, soccer Mom and I now drive a Minivan and am proud of it!

Great review! I had a Dodge Caravan years ago and really liked it. And I'm not even a "van" person. :-)

This sounds great. My husband also suggested a minivan - I didn't want one but I am now glad we have one!

When we had 3 kids at home we went from one Caravan to another. They were great. Jo

Crysta, outstaning review! We used to own a minivan, but with the kids now (mostly) gone we gave it up. Glad you like yours.

I have a friend who was a soccer mom to four girls. She had a Dodge Caravan and once she was down to only 2 girls she decided to get a Honda Accord. She is always talking about how much she misses her mini-van. Sounds like you got some really wonderful features. I am hoping to go car shopping tomorrow--I'm single so no need for a mini-van. Pray that I make the right decision, if any, and that I can get a good trade-in and mthly. payment. I haven't had a car payment in 2 yrs. so I'm not sure if I am really ready for that again :+(

LOL....It's funny how a minivan has a stereotype.....It's so comfortable and convenient, I can't complain. I Just wish it had 4 wheel drive!! :)

The only thing I would like to have seen was a price range for this vehicle.

The features are cool, but it's just to large for me and my son.

It's true, I fought hard against my soccer mom image -- but I love mine too! So much space, the dvd player, storage, versatility. Some day maybe I will return to my gas guzzling SUV (ok in a hybrid version) but as great as this is, I will be driving my mothers suburban assault vehicle for quite some time.
