This truck or SUV was made for a family of two to four people only, and if you have a family of that size, then you might like this vehicle, although you could probably find something that doesn't guzzle so much gas.  The 2006 Dodge Durango is a large SUV with very little room.  What I like about it:  It seats eight people, the hemi gives it a real nice kick, and the seats are pretty comfortable.  Unfortunately, the vehicle has way more cons for me than pros.  The best gas mileage I have ever been able to get in this vehicle has been 20 miles per gallon, and that was on a 6 hour trip with all highway driving.  The average gas mileage is about 15 - 16 mpg.  I have 4 kids, so I loved the 8 passenger seating in the vehicle, but getting the kids in and out is a hassle, because a mid row seat has to be folded and flipped up every time somebody needs to get in or out of the back row seat.  There are so many blind spots, and if the windows are tinted like mine were, you can't see anything out the back window.  There is almost no storage room in the back, as a matter of fact, when grocery shopping I have to fold down a seat every time just to fit the groceries in the vehicle, so make sure you have a roof rack if you are going to be traveling with 6 or more people and will have a load of supplies with you, because you can't fit everything and everyone inside at the same time.  I was pretty happy about the 6 disc cd changer and premium stereo system, until I realized that it is nearly impossible to change out a CD while driving with the way the system is set up.  First, you have to hit the "load" button, then select which disc you want to eject (1 - 6, better hope you remember which one is where), then eject the CD, and if you aren't quick enough getting the new CD in, you then have to hit load again, and select which disc number you want to load the CD into, then place the CD in the slot.  Ugh...even my hubby is unhappy with this vehicle choice and will be glad to have a minivan again.
