Doctor Who began in 1963, and materialized on our screens with a strange, elderly man and his granddaughter Susan. Susan was followed home by two of her teachers who were curious about her, since she had knowledge far beyond most of her fellow students in many areas, but was incredibly naive in other ways. One of the teachers, Ian Chesterton, had looked up her address, but found it belonged not to a house, but to the I. M. Forman junkyard. On following her as she left school that day, the teachers found she indeed went to the junkyard, where they met a strange man whom Susan addressed as her... review »

WHO would think that any show would be around so long?  Not even a daytime soap could claim that!  Entertaining people all around the world (and anywhere else in the galaxy that can interpret television signals) for almost 50 years, DOCTOR WHO has enlightened people of all ages throughout time.
Continually ever-changing, DOCTOR WHO has kept up with the times.  No other series can boast that claim.  Okay, there have been other series that have augmented their storyline to adapt, but the stories in general find themselves lacking in content even after 4 years on television.
The next closest...

I was never a fan of the original series but ever since they added David Tennant as Dr who I've been hooked. David Tennant is funny, handsome and very talented. I love the story lines and never miss an episode. Dr Who is a Time Lord who is over 900 years old and the only one left of his kind that he knows of. He has 2 hearts and travels in a phone booth that transports him in and out of time and worlds and alternate universes. He had a daughter on one world for about a day only to lose her in a fight when she stepped in front of a bullet meant for him. He once found out that he was married in another...

Doctor Who is a great show that started in 1963 and Starred William Hartnell as The First Doctor. He had a grandaughter named Susan and Ian and Barbara Susan's high school teachers. In These first years not much was revealed about the Doctor and his origins. I liked this it gave him a lot of mystery. Susan leaves in Dalek Invasion Of Earth and marries a Earth freedom fighter named David. The Doctor Promises he shall come back and see Susan again. The next season we meet another companion named Vicki who joins the Tardis after crash landing on another planet. Ian and Barbara soon leave.

Then there...

I remember Tom Baker.  Later I learned to love them all.  All my Doctors.  And now Russell T. Davies has brought him back to life.  Even better than before.

With Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant, the Doctor Who franchise has been in the hands of wonderful actors.  We wait patiently for the unveiling of Matt Smith.  As Russell T. Davies and Julie Gardner hand over the reins of Executive Producer to Steven Moffat, all of us who love a great story with intricate twists and turns, good laughs and sometimes even a tear or two sit up on the edge of our seats.  Of course, don't forget to...

In the old series Dr Who often flowed with the times . the 1st Dr was in many historical eras while the 2nd opened up more to aliens . The 3rd Dr was a defender of the Earth and the 4th transcended nicely from planet defender to space traveler to universe defender.and so forth and so on . Thus the cannon of the old Dr was established . he was the anti-hero ,rebelling against authority to do what was right moral and just . The new series comes along and skillfully changes the entire dynamics . Where as companions were of minimal use and usually caused more problems in the classic episodes in the...

Doctor Who originally aired on the BBC and ran for 27 years.  After a nearly 17 year hiatus, the show has been revived by Russell T. Davies (creator of "Queer As Folk").  Davies take on the Doctor manages to be simultaneously up to date and respectful of the original material.  The new Doctor has already been played by two actors, Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant.  While Eccleston's performance as the Doctor was well received, it's Tennant's quirky yet subtle take on the 900 year old Time Lord that has garnered the most raves.

Already into its 4th season, the first three seasons have...

You Can't Help But Fall In Love With Doctor Who and the spin off series Torchwood. This show leads you through sci-fi fantasy and makes it a reality by bringing aliens and monsters right into your bedroom. Doctor Who can be a very educational experience since the show not only deals with space, but time. One episode can be on another planet and the next in present time on Earth. It can lead you through history getting to know historical figures and those not so well-known. The aliens and CG is a little quirky at first, but given the chance it will shine through with its endearing characters... review »

Doctor Who is fiction, action, and suspense all rolled into one.Ever since the new series started with Christopher Eccleston I was hooked! The pure fantasy of it is enough to to draw you in and the excellent actiong makes it that much better. The way the scenery is shot is just amaxzing as well as some of the best amazing effects on any show for sure.Doctor Who's Comanions are jsut an added bonus, and by far Donna Smith was one of my favorites. The actors are amazing with each new person that comes or goes. This show has a great great way of drawing you in and taking you for a wild and amazing ride.

The moment I found out that they would be bringing back Doctor Who I was on the edge of my seat.  As a life time fan of the series I can honestly say that I was not let down when the new episodes of Doctor Who aired.  So far they have gone through two Doctors and both times the choices were amazing.  R. T. Davies deserves a medal for this incredable accievment.   Not only are the storylines captivating but the effects and direction are spot on.  I would highly recommend that you give Doctor Who a try.  I promise you will not regret it.
