Johnny and Honey met up with the other six of us in the parking lot for the Dixie Stampede. We opted for the early evening show. We were supposed to be there an hour before show time, but with women involved it was closer to a half-hour. This time of year there were three time choices. This was the fourth time at this Dixie Stampede for me, the third time for Honey, the second time for sister, and the first time for the rest of the crew. We were in Branson to see this one but could have done the same in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (Honey and I did that one last year) or in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina...

Dixie Stampede is a dinner theater where spectators eat while watching a rodeo-like show. This theater was started by Dolly Parton about twenty years ago. There are four locations: Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; Branson, Missouri; and Orlando, Florida. I go to the Myrtle Beach one the most so this is the location I'm reviewing. The rodeo is a competition where one side represents the North and the other side represents the South. I guess us Southerners are still smarting over that war of Northern aggression. My husband and I were in Pigeon Forge for our 10th anniversary in February of 2008.  We were told that we should go to the Dixie Stampede.  We were not dissappointed.  It was a fabulous experience.  Our server, Carla, was the most wonderful server we have ever had at any business we have ever visited.  She was so personable and made us part of the whole experience.  The show before dinner was wonderful.  We even got to meet the youngest person to ever win star search.  She was a member of the band that played in the Carriage Room.

The show was unbelievable.  The talent that was gathered...

The Dixie Stampede in Branson Missouri is incredible for everyone. Your ticket entitles you to a pre-show, dinner and an action pack live performance in the arena, while enjoying your dinner.

Go hungry! There is so much food. Too much food, really. There is audience participation also. This is the place you get to stomp your feet kick the wall in front of you and yell as loud as you can yell, all while eating dinner. Children love this!

There are two different live shows depending on which time of year you go. There is a civil war period theme show and their is a fantastic Christmas show....
