I've wanted to watch this movie for awhile now, but, somehow I missed it when it was first released on DVD. I was flipping through the channels today and came upon it on HBO. Immediately I was engrossed in it.
It starts out so innocent and nice, a nice father/son moment, but, it soon turns tragic with...

Directed by D.J. Caruso (The Shield) Disturbia begins as the ideal American movie; father (Matt Craven) and son Kale (Shia LaBeouf - Transformers) fishing and funning in the sun.  But the day ended in a horrific car accident that saw Dad killed and child predictably starts wallowing in depression to...

Disturbia, which is a re-make of the 1954 classic Rear Window, and was directed by Alfred Hitchcock, and starred James Stewart, is the story about a young man named Kale (Shia LaBeouf) who is sentenced to 3 months of house arrest.  Through mere boredom, kale finds ways to peep through his windows, and see what's going on in his neighbor's lives.  . Although the acting, and drama in Disturbia is not quite as good as in Rear Window, Director D. J. Caruso who has specialized in crime thrillers in the past, does a decent job in keeping the audience engrossed in the story line as everything... read full review »

A year after the tragic death of his father Shia LaBeouf beats up his teacher and is placed under house arrest for the summer. Cut off from the outside world and suffering cabin fever he turns to voyuerism to relieve his boredom. While spying on his neighbors he spots some suspicious behavior from his supposedly squeakly clean neighbor and slowly starts to suspect he may be an infamous serial killer.

Disturbia is amazing. It's different, and pretty much unlike other horror movies. From its background to its plot, it is something else. Most horror movies end up putting away the "thriller" tone and mood, instead giving us something we really don't want to see. Take Friday the 13th for example, that movie was horrible! But films like The Amityville Horror, The Exorcist, and Halloween pretty much blows away all the flaws. Sure...

I believe this movie is a remake of Rear Window by Alfred Hitchcock but definitely has a modern flair.  I'm a baby boomer, so I can't even tell you the names of the actors, but the lead male was very good.  You learn to hate him and like him all in an hour and a half (or so).  Very cute show!

The movie Disturbia was the average thriller with the very much anticpated "next moves." It left little to actually thrill you. It was predictable and a bore. It was the typical teen thrill movie with a teen going from trouble maker to hero who is generally understood by everyone, except the audience.
