We have stayed at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside resort twice and look forward to many more stays. We travel to Orlando 4-5 times a year and even when we are not staying at POR we try to make a point to at least visit our favorite resort.

The Alligator Bayou rooms are rustic yet beautiful and a great value for a family with 3 children as one small child can sleep on the trundle bed and you can have 5 in one room. Magnolia Bend rooms have all the grace and charm of an old southern mansion.

My son loves to go pole fishing on Ol' Man Island. My husband can take him fishing in the morning while my...

Port Orleans Riverside used to be known by the name "Dixie Landings" Resort and I will always think of it this way.  We love the old waterwheel and the food court is HUGE with terrific items.  We have always stayed (5 or 6 times) on the Mansion side...so we cannot comment on Alligator Bayou.  We love the quiet pools close to the rooms and also the "Ol' Man Island" where you can use the pool slide and get a mean Mud Slide!  Another perk is being able to use the water taxi down to the Marketplace....check it out!

We LOVED our stay here. It was affordable, clean and in a great location. Staying at a Disney hotel made the vacation very easy and relaxing. They provide transportation to/from the airport, and to/from the parks. The food at the food court was fairly affordable. The pool area was cool too. We will stay with them (or another Disney hotel) next time we go there as well!

Stayed at the hotel for eight nights with my son (9) and mother (82) since I thought it would be nicer than the lower end Disney hotels but still economically priced.  Biggest problem was it was too much walking for my mom and there was no separate bathroom.  All in all I would have preferred staying at one of their "budget" hotels.

Our last stay at WDW was at the Port Orleans Riverside Resort.  We ended up staying here because we could fit our entire family of 6 into one room.  We had 2 double beds, a roll out bed and a pack and play.  It was tight, but was well worth not having to pay for 2 rooms.

We also ate lunch at the restaurant there (can't remember the name, but is in the same building as the lobby) and enjoyed it.  No one was there at lunch, so the service was fast.
