The minute you arrive, you step into a time machine.  Valets and bellmen wear golfing attire from the early 1900s:  knickers and berets.   Desk clerks wear vests under their jackets.  The elegant lobby atrium is filled with antiques and presided over by a massive chandelier and stained glass domes.  A three-piece band has their equipment set up along the second floor railing;  with their help, Disney tunes waft down from above, each day from 4-10 pm.

Top of the line hotel

The Grand Floridian is one of Disney's Luxury Hotels (meaning most expensive and more elaborate). I have stayed at it 2 times now and I absolutely love it. There are 2 pools, one with a waterslide. Guests can gaze out in the lagoon and see Cinderella's castle and Magic Kingdom area. There are convenient ferry boats to take you the the park (about 15 minutes total time to the Magic Kingdom, as you pick up other hotel guests). Those who decide to splurge and become "concierge" stayers will receive complementary snacks and food throughout the day (Including breakfast items like cereal, danishes, breads,... review »

The BEST Disney has to offer!

My family and I have stayed at quite a few Disney World hotels.  This was by far our favorite!! We traveled with my then 3 year old and he fit right in.  I have heard that the Grand Floridian often had a snooty crowd and made guests with young children feel out of place.  We didn't not feel this way at all.  The staff was very friendly and my son got many stickers and lots of attention from them! The restaurants are fantastic and you can't beat the location! We're definitely returning there.
