The Jungle Book is the story of Mowgli, a young boy who has grown up in the wild.  Yes, it sounds very familiar to the infamous Tarzan series, but this was the first Disney adaptation to peruse those storylines.  Mowgli has grown up with a group of wolves in the jungles of India, but when he and the others are threatened by a menacing tiger, he is sent on his way to reunite with his own kind.  It is that journey which serves as the focal point of this story, and gives the audience an interesting and memorable experience as he comes face-to-face with the many animals of the… read full review »

This movie was so much fun.  It's great for all ages, as long as they are old enough to sit still.  The songs are really catchy and the characters are lovable.  The villian is definitely a villian but not overly scary.  And my favorite thing of all...a happy… read full review »

I just saw the re-release at the El Capitan in Hollywood, and a friend purchased the DVD for me.  I remember seeing this when I was a little kid, and loving it.  I felt haunted, however, by Mowgli leaving the jungle and following the little girl without saying goodbye to Baloo. — The animation is beautiful.  They don't have certain details like the present day Disney films, but that is what gives it a wonderful nostalgic feeling.  I am always amazed by the fact that the animators hand painted every cell. — The voiceover work is excellent.  The voices for… read full review »

What can I say about this film ..... apart from the fact that everyone who watches will enjoy it.  I can guarantee that you will be singing along with the all the songs that you remember as a child when you first watched it. —  I first watched it many (too many!) years ago when I was a child and then when I had my daughter we watched it together many, many times, it was always one of her favorite disney films. — She is now 18 but went back to  being a little girl when she saw I had bought the new DVD (the quality of which is superb).  Within the first 10… read full review »

This movie brings back many wonderful childhood memories.  How can you not sing along or smile every time you hear Bare Necessities. — This is a story of the baby left in the jungle and raised by a pack of wolves.  He finds the meaning of friendship and the ability to find friendship outside of what he was taught.  He learns to love easily. — How can you not love Ballou, the great big lovable bear?  Mowgli, the man cub, decides he wants to live with Ballou in the jungle forever and not go back to the "man" village.  The adventures they come across along… read full review »

I absolutly love this movie its one of my all time favorite Disney films. I remember going to the theater to see this movie as a child. When I saw that it was being released again I jumped at the chance to share it with my son. My son is an animal lover and he was completly engrossed in this film. The songs are fun and catchy. The animals are lovable and funny. The film is truly a children/family film not full of crude humor or tastless reference to adult situtions like new films such as Shrek 1 2 or 3. This something you can feel comfortable and confident about exposing your children… read full review »

this movie is so awesome for all ages, not just kids. I just fell in love with King Louie.  I feel like this movie teaches life lessons on how to handle things in life and how to  build great and lasting friendships. It also teaches that even though we are all different we can all get along.… read full review »
