One of my family's favorite Disney hotels is their Animal Kingdom Lodge: located in the Animal Kingdom Resorts area. We have stayed there five times. It is a bit pricey but worth the splurge, even if it is only for one night.

THE HOTEL

The Animal Kingdom Lodge is shaped like a horseshoe, six-stories high and contains over 800,000-square-feet. This is a BIG place!

It is designed to simulate an African wildlife reserve and is divided into four trails:- Kudu Trail, Ostrich Trail, Giraffe Trail, and Zebra Trail. There are also three Savannahs: Uzima, Arusha, and Sunset which house all the African animals...

Animal Kingdom Lodge is a one of a kind resort built in a "U" shape around a Savannah full of African Animals.   To stand out on your balcony and see Giraffes running by is really a site!  The rooms are a bit small and dark, but I spent most of my resort time either on the balcony or out looking at the animals or by the beautiful "zero entry" pool. Yes, it's expensive, but truly amazing and I highly recommend it!

Animal Kingdom Lodge is just wonderful!  The hotel is so beautiful.  The room was great and the staff friendly. It felt as if we were experiencing Africa. There is just so many things to do at Disney that we were not able to enjoy the programs the Lodge had to offer. The beds were very comfortable and it was nice it was relaxing to just sit on the balcony. We will be staying here again on our next visit.

We were welcomed wholeheartedly. The room was beautiful and comfortable, clean and roomy. We were supposed to see animals outside our room but did only a few times because we were near the edge of the section. There were more animals visible on the other side. The bathroom was beautiful. The maid neglected to give us shampoo and conditioner a couple of times during the 6 days but when we asked for it they brought it to us promptly. The breakfast brunch was wonderful - we ate ther every day. Waiting staff was anxious to please and very pleasant at all times. Concierge was always helpful. Disney... read full review »

Animal Kingdom Lodge delivered the Savannah experience! My daughter and I were able to see Giraffes, antelope and ostriches, all from our balcony! The hotel and grounds were meticulously kept with no odor of animals whatsoever. The only negative was that there are only 2 restaurants on site (Jiko and Boma) and dinner reservations book up 1 month in advance. Also, they are doing construction and earth moving equipment can be heard and sometimes seen. Overall though we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

the animal kingdom lodge was very family friendly. accomedated for all of our needs with out hesitation. it was focused towards the enjoyment of the children but adults would have no problems enjoying it as well. at night they would have african stories and the children would grab instruments and sing in the lobby. my children enjoyed the hotel more than they did disney world, MGM studio etc.

Recreational Attactions: Not Applicable, the pool with the rock slide is a most

The Animal Kingdom Lodge romm was even larger than imagined. It had twin sinks and a separate shower area. Our view from the balcony overlooking the savanah was breathtaking. The room itself was beautiful like being on an African Safari.

Shopping: In Hotel, The gift shop was well stocked and the staff were so friendly and helpful. I was able to mail my purchases home and avoid being weighed down.

We had a great stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Our 1-year-old had a fantastic time, she loved the animals, the pool and watching all of the other toddlers. Dining at Mara was pretty blah. And Boma was good, but you NEED reservations or be prepared to wait to eat until after 9 pm. But hotel was in good proximity to other offsite dining options, not close, but a 5-10 minute drive.
