Disneyland —

My husband and I went to Anaheim, California for a conference at which he was presenting a paper. We took some time off to go to Disneyland. I've been to Disneyworld many times but this was my first time at Disneyland. I am not comparing the two but Florida's Disneyworld wins hands up in my view.

I don't like rides so something like Epcot Center in Florida is more my taste. Still Disneyland was fun and since we spent most of the time in the kiddy area I was happy.

I did not take notes so I'm writing this based on my pictures which I will post.

1. Inoventions was worth the stop. Note that we did not wait in any lines because we refused to. We have waited in lines with kids for hours! This was a house of tomorrow. It was interactive and interesting.

2. Pirates of the Caribbean scared me. Ok I told you I don't like rides. It had a couple of small drops down! It was fun when I had my eyes open and saw fires and pirates.

3. We went on the Carousel of course. I love carousels and feel just like a kid. We did wait a few minutes but that was all.

4. We saw Honey I Shrunk the Audience which I highly recommend.

5. We went to the little kids' area. I wanted to ride the Tea Cups but my husband doesn't like to spin. We ended up on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride which wasn't very wild (since it is for four year olds!). We were the only adults without kids but we had fun. You can see the smile on my husband's face!! This ride comes from the Disney classic "The Wind in the Willows."

6. We ate at Red Rockett's Pizza Port where the pizza wasn't all that good but we didn't get sick. You can get pasta and salads here as well. I think good food at a theme park is an oxymoron.

7. Of course we saw the parade which was really well done. The floats were terrific and we managed to get a decent viewing spot without blocking any children.

That was our day at Disneyland. Trying to look at it from a kid's point of view Disneyland is amazing and of course you have to go. If you live in the middle of the country, though, opt for Disneyworld.

I think that which ever park you visit first will be the one you like the best wether it is Dinsey land or world. You will always compare the second park to the first.

I've never been to Disneyland. I have a fondness for Disneyworld! Why? I was born in Orlando, FL the year Disneyworld was built. I've been to Disneyworld LOTS of times, but I haven't been in a long time. I hope to go back soon! ~Krista Lynn

I have been to Disneyworld with the Senior Saints from my church so I spent most of my time in the Epcot Center. It was a graduation gift collectively from a group of them so it was fun none the less. BTW: Girl in bubble alert. I did get hurt on Space Mtn. Yes, only me ;+) ~Gigi

I love Disneyland! Sadly, the admissions prices are insane and not to mention the price for food there. :(

We did the Fast Pass a lot at Disney World, but some of the things that the girls most wanted to do didn't have a Fast Pass option. It was a bit hard to plan out, but I dislike waiting in long lines. Usually, about the time we get to the front of the line, somebody has to go to the bathroom!

We did the fast pas when we were there a couple of times ago with the kids. It helps but you really had to time it right to make sure you got back or you lost your spot if I remember correctly. It's still better than just standing in line.

So much fun, and it's great to be a kid again!

I'd like to see the Pirates of the Caribbean. Sounds like you had as much fun as most kids do!

We've been to Disney World but not Disneyland. They had something at Disneyworld called Fast Pass where you could get a pass at a certain time and come back and get into a MUCH shorter line off to the side. It was free and not a lot of people knew about it.
