Disney World's Wilderness Lodge - Orlando, FL Review Summary

Viewpoints reviewers are taking the whole family to Disney World's Wilderness Lodge in Orlando, Florida. This Lodge is much more than a hotel as they also offer Villas with kitchens, Cabins in the woods, and even a spot to park your RV. Reviewers' kids love the Kids Club "where you can leave your kids for a few hours while you have some adult time." The Wilderness Lodge offers plenty of entertainment for kids including pools, water slides and arcades. Adults enjoy that they can "sneak away" for "a night cap in the on-site bar" or "the hot tub to relax." Overall, this resort is highly recommended for all ages. "The Wilderness Lodge makes you feel like you are in a luxury lodge up North." Don't forget to read Viewpoints reviews about Walt Disney World and other hotels in the area.

Disney's Wilderness Lodge, is my favorite hotel within the Disney family of hotels, although I have to say I've enjoyed most of them.  It is located closest to the Magic Kingdom.  It looks like a "Lincoln Log" Style Building, with the brown tree poles the green tree slabs as the roof.  It is a smoke-free resort.  I want to say upfront, that even though it's not one of the cheapest (nor the most expensive), there is a way to make it an affordable, memorable, and stress-free stay.  I've outlined how in the last paragraph about Disney's Travel Agency. —… read full review »

I knew I wanted to get away to Disney World with the family and I went back and forth with which resort would be best for our family and budget. I chose the Wilderness Resort and couldn't have been happier. We were greeted at the curb by curtious bellhops and directed to our concierge who informed us that our room key would be our key to the park. That perk there made the trip so convenient. We were surprised to find that when our requested room was not available (we were early), they put us in a room with more features. The kids were able to enjoy a bunkbed while my husband and I shared a… read full review »

If deluxe is the way you want to go, then the Wilderness Lodge is just for you. It is slightly cheaper then the other deluxe resorts but just as nice. The only negative is that it is not on the monorail line but it does have a direct boat to the Magic Kingdom. The rooms are comfortable, some rooms even have bunk beds. They are large and perfect for families. The resturants are wonderful, especially Whispering Canyon Lodge. The pool is huge with rolling waterfalls that end up in the pool. There is even a geiser that goes off every half hour. Very Disney and family themed but also a… read full review »

My family and I stayed at the Wilderness Lodge at Disney World on our most recent trip taken only a month ago.  This resort was everything I had read about and more.  The place was a vision in itself.  The rooms were very nice.  I loved having my own private balcony where I could sit and look at the pool area and the gyser everyday.  Although, there were lots of spider webs on the balcony, but that's just a minor thing.  It seemed that everyday we discovered a new hidden Mickey in our travels to the car or eating area.  There was always something new to… read full review »

Before my husband and I moved to FL 3 years ago, we drove from PA to FL and visited Walt Disney World 4 different times. (Now we live less than 10 minutes away and I go weekly.. that place makes you such a kid at heart!) — We stayed at a different on sight hotel every visit because we wanted to try different things, but on our first visit we stayed at Wilderness Lodge and fell in love with it. — As soon as you enter the resort the lobby is breath taking. It's huge, with plenty of seating areas to sit and relax. In one section there is a working fireplace surrounded by rocking… read full review »

I can't say enough about this hotel. Disney knows how to do thing right. We stayed here a few years ago as a family. Out rooms were always beautiful, the staff was cheerful, friendly and helpful at all times. Our favorite part of the hotel was the main resturant. It has an old country like feel. Most meals are served family style and the servers make you laugh. They let you know up front to "just haller if you need them." And they mean that literally. The place is always hopping, and you won't regret checking it out. The lodge also has a nice swimming pool with a waterslide. The whole… read full review »

This hotel is fantastic. You would think you had arrived at a lodge in the great northwest area of this country. The lobby and all lobby decor are huge with huge wooden beams and columns throughout. Their restaurant is also huge on servings; everything delicious. The grounds is another wonderland with geyers and pools; everything meticulously cared for. Their price-tag is also… read full review »

The Wilderness Lodge is a hotel that makes you feel like you are in a luxury lodge up North, and from the big glass windows to the smell of fresh cut food! During Christmas the decorations are outstanding, you can sit in the lobby drinking a fine red wine looking at the giant Christmas tree and listening to the Christmas carol performers. — … read full review »
