This was our second cruise on the Magic, but our first to the eastern Caribbean. We chose this destination because we would have more days at sea. We love the relaxing atmosphere of being at sea and all the choices you have for activities. The Disney Magic is magical. We chose the Disney Cruise Line because we wanted a family oriented cruise, and we were not interested in any gambling (they do not have casinos). All the staff on the cruise line are dedicated staff, caring about your comfort and very tolerant of children. I witnessed several children throwing items to each other from deck to deck, and when a crew member came by, instead of yelling at them, he joined in in the fun.
Of course, the Magic can also be very adult oriented. There is a private pool for adults, and a private adults only beach on Disney's private island, Castaway Cay. Also, most families are scheduled in different dinning rooms than adults without children. Which makes for a wonderful cruise if you have kids, and still wonderful even if you don't. Even though kids are allowed in the bar areas during the day, at night, they convert to adult only areas.
There are many activities for the children, and many for the adults, if you want something to keep you busy. I preferred just relaxing and reading while the waves rolled by.
We had an indoor room, with a split bathroom--one side had the shower/bathtub and sink, the other a toliet and sink. This was very handy when we were getting ready for dinner. We had an inside room, which we love because the kids sleep later without the sun waking them up. We were on deck 2, we loved it. Close enough to use the stairs to go up for dinner, instead of waiting on the crowds to use the elevators.
The shows were fantastic, very family friendly. But there were other choices, if the shows are not your taste. There was always plenty of wonderful food, and sodas were included with your meal, plus a soda station was available at all hours.
We love the Disney Cruise line and can't imagine cruising on any other cruise line. My dream is to one day retire and live on the Magic!
