It is so much nicer than cable

not rich, living with many animals, appreciative of good service, budget conscious, a pet owner, expecting good, fair service, cost-conscious

We had been with cable for years and I could not begin to tell you how much better we have liked the dish-price is better, picture quality is better, and believe it or not, we have less problems with the satellite going out than we did with cable-and the satellite is usually only out a couple of minutes while it searches for new signal, where cable could be hours or more waiting for a servicer. I have become DVR addicted, because TV is now totally on my terms...I watch it when it is convenient and don't miss any of my favorite programs. If I am too tired, I can replay it later. If I get a phone call or visitor, I can freeze the program, or I can record the remainder for later. I can actually get my kids to come to the dinner table without argument, because they know they won't miss the end of their show....my only disappointment is that I have a 100 hour capable DVR and I understand that Dish is offering new customers a 500 hour DVR-and I wish existing customers could be eligible for it without paying a huge upgrade fee....I have discovered that if the satellite goes out during a storm, you can still plug into what is saved in the DVR and still have television entertainment.
