I believe the dish has an excellent service to offer, but the product itself may become costly if damaged, whether is has insurance or not. It's alot harder to learn then cable. You just cut cable on and it plays, but if you like fooling around with your gadgets then the dish would before you, but if your not a fool around type person when it comes to your gadgets and you just like to set it up and go then cable would before you. Overall, its your own perspective on how you pick and choose your products.
