After reviewing all other options, we made the decision to use Dish again because of the DVR service. We use that more than any other device in our home. It is half the price of our cable companies DVR service, and you get double the hours.
At the time of sign up, I paid for two months of service upfront and expected a bill this month. I did not receive a bill, however my service was cut off today because I was 31 days late. I had the attitude it was possible that I had misunderstood or had a bill buried somewhere so I called to see if I could figure out what had happened. The customer service rep was very rude and repeatedly asked me how I was going to pay. I told her it depended on the outcome of our call and she said that since there was no record of return mail then I am responsible. How would I like to pay?
Since I'm not under contract, I feel like my options are open to shop around again.
Ok...several months later and I had a DVR issue. I called Dish and the problem was diagnosed withing 30 minutes. They were sending me a new receiver because I had been paying $5.99 for the insurance for 18 months. The gentleman I got on the phone was very efficient and nice. So there you go. Now, my updated opinion is that if I could watch football or buy a football package it would be perfect!
