Yup - better than cable.

a techie, an early adopter, cost-conscious
Pros

    EASY TO USE, good reception, better than cable, excellent dvr service

Cons
    Billing & tech support are hard to reach, crappy customer service

If I was not already very comfortable with DISH, I would consider changing.

Channel selection is good and I do use the music channels for background music (Sirius).  But when dealing with their support, it has been less than good.  It is aggravating to deal with their call center and trying to resolve issues.

 I am a tech person who will troubleshoot problems before making a call.  Yet - getting their support off script long enough to explain the problem is hard.

I will say that when we needed our DISH replaced - there was a very quick turn around from their sub-contractor.
