There's no two ways about it: Discovery HD's broadcast of the BBC series "planet earth" is the best thing on TV. Its also probably the best HD footage I've ever seen.

The series is an 11 part series that took 5 years and more than 2,000 days of shooting to create. Using technology never used before in these settings (a 10,000 frame-per-second camera to capture a Great White breaching to catch a seal and an HD video camera with a lens to bring a wolf two-miles away into you living room crystal clear) the BBC has created a series that will give you a whole new appreciation for the the creatures we share this planet with.

So step away from Jack Bauer and American Idol for just a bit, and enjoy.

Sigh I wish I could say I watched something educational. Jolie, at least you have Sesame Street to fall back on. (Is that still on?) I have learned a lot about medicine from House and Grey's Anatomy. I could probably figure out a crime scene by now! :) jo

I did, and I don't regret it. Take a look and tell me I'm wrong.

Did you just knock American Idol and 24- my favorite 2 shows?
