I wanted to read this book because of all the contoversy , and I have grandchildren who will want to see the movies.  I wanted to be well informed  and familiar with the material when the decisions were to be made if the children should be allowed to see it or not.  I found nothing to justify all the hype.  It is fantasy, Yes their are bad characters in it, how dull it would be without any.  Yes there is fanasty, and witches, how cool.  The Wizard of Oz, Bewitched, and endless other great stories had all of that "fun" stuff.  I saw nothing about wanting "God" dead, no anti-christian plots.  This story is pure fun and entertainment,  I recomend it highly.  I have not read the two other books yet, but look forward to doing so.  I have them and plan on starting tonight.  As soon as the movie is released I look forward to seeing it. I also look forward to taking my grandchildren for an afternoon of fun and excitement.
