If high gas prices have you singing the blues, then consider the Discover Open Road Gas Card. This credit card offers a five percent rebate on gasoline purchases and this rebate money can be exchanged for gift cards to your favorite restaurant or other retailer. Discover Open Road Gas Card is “The Only Thing Good About High Gas Prices”, but there is one major flaw with this card, and this is indicated by the comment: “Great, IF You Spend Under $100 per Month on Gas”. Discover Gas Card continues to change its terms and the limit on the amount of gasoline that qualifies for a discount continues to shrink. This is why the opinions are mixed and why the overall consensus is that the Discover Open Road Gas Card is a good Credit Card provided you don’t drive very much.

Don't fall for it!

When Discover (called me) and offered this card they told me I would get 5% rebate on all my gas and car charges like oil, tires etc. I ordered the card then found out I was only getting $5.00 rebate on $700.00 in charges. I called to see what the deal was and the lady said "ohhhhh they have changed it, now you only get 5% on the first 100.00 a month!!! Wow! That is one whole tank of gas now. This is a truly lousy card. Your rebates end after $100.00 per month or a total of $1200 per year. With gas prices as they are, you can only get rebates for about 1and a half tanks of gas per month.
