Excellent Reward Options

5

We love our Discover credit card. While we generally avoid debt, I find I use this card often, paying the balance every month, simply to accumulate rewards. We love that Discover works with Amazon so every point of reward spends like a dollar on Amazon - which you can apply easily at checkout! It's the simplest reward system I've ever found for a credit card. At the same time, if you're not an Amazon shopper, there is a wide variety of other reward options. I have redeemed for travel rewards in the past and this redemption was also much easier than I'd anticipated, which is wonderful, especially considering how complicated these rewards can be. I loved that the miles can work for any airline. No matter where I'm flying or which airline I need, I know these rewards will apply - I love that. The third reward option, for gift cards, is more "costly" in regards to points, but is also a fairly simple process. If you're looking for a rewards credit card with flexibility and ease of redemption, this is it! Available Rates The rates aren't exactly competitive, but if you're simply using the card for rewards, paying the balance each month, it's not a problem

I like this card but I don't use it as much.

Discover card is a service guaranty. Their customer service is always attentive and helpful. One time a restaurant charged me two times, I called discover and they took care of it. I didn't even have to call the restaurant back. My only reason why I am not using this card as much as my discover cash back card is because this card only accumulate miles. I really don't like to use their miles to travel because it takes forever to get enough points to go far. I also don't like to limit myself to use their travel agencies only. The one good thing about this card is it gives you double miles for traveling and restaurant expenses. It is like the Capital One card that I have it gives double point for traveling. I only use this card when I have to travel or go eat out. Not a bad card but not as good as the cash back discover card!

I love the Miles by Discover card. Its an easy way to earn airline miles for travel. They give you a chance to double your miles every month by offering something different to double your chance. This past month it was on gas. Who doesn't pay gas? Next two months its on food. what better way to add up those miles! I love the discover card!

no hassle rewards and low APR

Using the Discover Miles card is easy and useful.  If you qualify, you can received 12 months with 0% interest.  Great for me as I ended up unemployed for nearly 2 months and had to use the card more then I usually would like to use it.  Easy to accumulate points but the name is a bit deceptive.  To earn "miles" you have to accumulate over 10,000 points, but if you can't wait that long you can cash in your points for gift cards and other rewards.  There are fraud, theft, and loss of employment protection options, but they are not all free.  Customer service is good and online access is fantastic. Of course it is ideal to pay off the monthly balance in full, especially once the 0% APR runs out and the usual 10.9% APR kicks in--but I have found the Target gift cards, Bed, Bath, and Beyond gift cards, and Starbucks gift cards helpful to use personally and as gifts.  You can't use Discover EVERYWHERE (especially not internationally as I learned in the UK), but travel-related purchases earn 3xs the miles, and there are a number of promotional double mile months like gas or grocery purchases.  Overall, this is a great rewards card with NO ANNUAL FEE.

So easy and flexible to redeem!

I initially signed up for this card for the attractive introductory 0% APR on balance transfers, because I had high interest rates on other cards.  The introductory period has since ended, but the APR is still a competetive rate that I can't complain about (especially with the fact I have had two late payments in the past six months!).Better than the rates, though, is the rewards program.  You earn miles simply by making purchases, but they're not tied to any particular airline and there are no restrictions.  I recently booked a flight with Southwest, and when it posted to my account, I called to redeem my miles and a simple 2-minute phone conversation was all it took to have the credit I had earned from my miles posted back to my account to cover the cost of the ticket.Even better, if you don't feel like spending your miles on a flight (with gas and ticket prices sky-rocketing, it could take awhile to earn enough to completely cover your ticket), you can opt to trade your miles in for either cash back or gift cards to popular stores.  With the great interest rates, AMAZING customer service and incredibly easy rewards program, this is by far the best card I have ever used.   UPDATE: As my husband and I are making steps to stop using credit cards, I decided to cash in remaining points for gift cards to Red Lobster and Old Navy.  While not as good of a trade-in rate as it would have been traded in for travel credit, I really appreciated the easy option so as to feel I was getting the most for the points I had earned.  This, too, was an easy process.  I visited the website, selected the cards I wanted and two days later they were in my mailbox.  So easy!

Discovercard Miles program, not half bad

I've had the Discover Miles card for almost 3 years now.  Since then I have had about 4 credit increases and many balance transfer offers.  However it doesn't seem that I only receive a balance transfer offer after I have a high balance.  The rewards offered are pretty good, they offer giftcards from the most popular vendors.  You can even exchange your points for cash to you checking account or to credit you credit card bill, in increments of fifty dollars.    I have redeemed for Red Lobster, Shell Gas station, The Gap, Starbucks, they all make great gifts.  In fact another good idea is to redeem gift cards from another point system website then you can combine the giftcards into one huge gift.  The customer service reps are generally helpful.  One complaint is that it takes a couple of days for items to post to you account including charges and payments.  Their website allows you to view statements for the past 3 years when comes in handy when you mainly do bills online.  There's also I credit analysis which breaks down you spending habits in a pie chart

I love my miles

Discover Miles offers a $100 credit toward travel expenses for every 10,000 'miles' you earn using your Discover card, .  You earn 1 mile per 1 dollar you spend.  That may not seem like a lot, but they often offer 2-for-1 deals, which earns your miles more quickly.  This last summer they were offering 2 for 1 miles on all travel expenses which coinceded with a trip my daughter and I took with another family.  They let me use the card for all of our air travel costs - $2,000 - which gave me 4,000 miles in one transaction.  Right now it is 2-for-1 on all grocery expenses, so I'm putting all my grocery shopping on Discover and paying it off each month. You can use the credits after the fact, and they will apply it towards your travel expenses for which you've used your card.  I am planning a trip next spring, and will put all expenses onto the card, then when I return, redeem my miles to help pay for the trip.  Sweet! The only drawback to Discover that I have found is that it is not accepted everywhere like Visa and Mastercard, but I like their customer service better.

Discover Credit Card Can help.

This card is a great credit card to have if you are going to be a heavy traveler with family or friends and can be very beneficial if you travel for business and pay all the fees on the card then get reimbursed by your employer. Discover gets several promotions throughout the year like double miles on restaurant and gas purchases and double points on heavily used purchases like groceries and travel. One very nice benefit of this card is Discover will automatically give you an extra year of warranty coverage for all electronic purchases at no charge, so if you item breaks after the manufacture's warranty has expired then you tell Discover and they will give you a credit to purchase a new working item as long as the entire purchase was put on the card. The rewards and cash back are nice and easy to get. When you first sign up they give 5,000 miles a month for the first 6 months so you are well on your way to getting cash back or another reward. They also have a large number of online stores where you can purchase something and they will give a percentage like 20% back in miles.
