Discover - Discover Review

It used to be that I only used a credit card when traveling.  Now I use my Discover card whenever I can.  The flea market still requires cash. These days nearly everywhere else takes Discover.

Every month I pay the whole balance on my card online, so I actually make money whenever I use it.  Since nearly everything my husband and I buy is on the statement, reviewing it has helped me budget.   Discover recently reduced the cash-back rate, so my haul won't be as good this year.  However, I'll stick with this card because of the great service. 

When my grocery store's computer system was compromised, my credit card number --along with thousands of others--was stolen.  My Discover statement showed over $200 worth of gas bought at one time in another state.  When I called Discover, they not only removed the whole amount from my bill but actually overnighted me a replacement card with a new number.  The guy on the phone could not have been nicer if I'd been his mom.

Discover has never made an error on my statement.  In the many years I have used the card, Discover has never played gotcha games like so many other companies.

When I went on vacation a couple of months later, I charged everything.  When I got home, Discover called me to be sure I was the one who had used the card.  This was not some special service I had paid for.  It's just how they do business. 

The Discover website not only lets me pay my bills online, but also allows me to choose the design of my card.  You can choose from very plain cards in a variety of colors, or from hundreds of images from science, the arts, nature, pets, patriotic themes and so on.  I picked Monet's water lilies.  It's not only the prettiest credit card I've ever seen; it's also the easiest to spot in my wallet.    My husband picked an American flag.  A customized card is no reason to pick a credit card company, but it's nice to have. I have used my Discover card for years and I am completely satisfied.
