I have a few different credit cards. Discover is the one I use the most. All of my cards earn points for something. But with Discover I earn cash back. Every quarter they have special categories that you earn an extra 5% cash back on. For example this quarter it includes restaurants, movie theaters, and grocery stores. You earn the extra 5% on top on the regular cash back. Also if you shop online thru the Discover webiste you will earn extra cash back on those purchases as well. I pay my balance every month so I am not familiar with the interest rates. You can use your cash back bonus in increments of $20. You can get a check, have it applied to your account, or use it for giftcards to different stores and restaurants.. If you use it for giftcards you usually get a giftcard for more than your amount. (Like using $20 for a $25 giftcard) My cash back bonus paid for my computer last year.
A few years ago I had an issue with a product that I had purchased and returned. The store never processed the return properly. I called Discover and their customer service department was wonderful. They did an inquiry into it and credited my account with no problem.
