I have been a discover member since 2007. At first it offered me 0 % interest, which was good for me because it forced me to pay off my balances in a fixed amount of time. I have since then payed off the balance I owed, and although I still use the card daily, the big difference is that now I pay the amount I owe in full every month, so there is never any remaining balance carried over from month to month with a ridiculous % interest being charged. If I still had a sizeable balance remaining after that introductory period was over, I would have switched over to another credit card offering 0 % interest. i don't think any consumer should have to pay a penny in interest, if it is avoidable.
The first of the two complaints I have about this card is that the amount I get cash back is so little that it really doesn't encourage me to spend more with the card. 1 or 2 % is really not very much.
The second complaint is that they recently changed the payment date on my card for no reason and which I did not authorize. Then they charged me a late fee for not paying on the new due date on time, which they have said they will credit me for. We will have to wait and see. I do not like the idea that any credit card company can just decide suddenly to change your due date for no reason unbeknownst to the cardholder, then charge you a late fee for something they decided to do. Especially one that brags that "you can pick your own due date" as one of its selling points.
