I've been a Discover card holder since 1994...In fact it was my first major card...I love the cashback bonus. They were the first to have this type of reward for the "average" card holder. My negative feelings just started recently in the last year. I got a new Motiva card and shortly after, I got a call about their credit protection program. I never participate in those and I tried to nicely decline...At one point the rep asked if she could send me some info...I said ok, not realizing that my accpetance to review the material automatically signed me up for this...I was not pleased when I got my next bill..Now they were so so about it when I called to cancel, but what angered me was, that I don't have time to make extra phone calls about something I didn't want in the first place. If I want a product or service I will seek it out...don't like to be bothered...and why do we as consumers have to opt out on everything....how about leave people alone...We Americans are quite good at spending and wasting money without having a company to push us along into it..
