It's no Dyson, but does the job so far!

looking for convenience, Cost conscious, brand loyal, practical

Sometimes, you shell out the dough - just to find that spending more doesn't always mean you are getting more. We paid $120.00 for our last vacuum (Hoover Fusion Plus Cyclonic Upright Vacuum - $120.00 [see the review]) and it didn't last a year. So this time I was a little wary of spending alot.

When I got to Walmart (yes, my vacuum store of choice) I immediately went to the $40 - $80 section. The first thing that caught my eye was a Dirt Devil which I thought it to be a pretty good, reliable brand. I was surprised to find one that inexpensive. I compared it to the other three in my price range and thought this was the best choice. I think I paid around $50.00 for it.

I have had this vacuum for a few months now, so the jury still might be out on this one, but so far, so good! I have not had any major clog problems yet, except for one time I thought my husband had changed the bag last vacuum session, but he had not and it shut itself off it was so full! Then I had to go and pull some stuff out of the openings. It picks up very well, is alot lighter than my last vacuum and has a very long wand! I can almost make it up the whole stair case (to the "landing" where it turns) with just the wand! And you know...I am not sure that bagless is better! My last bagless was messy as ever to empty, and take it from someone with allergies - it was not pleasant! This time around I just pull the bag off, throw it away, and stick a new one on! Simple!

I give this vacuum a 4 star rating because while I am sure it is not the very best vacuum out there, if you are on a budget, it will do the job! Well worth the money paid!
