I use this vacuum in a two bedroom apartment. I find that canister vacuums are cheaper than the uprights because they aren't as easy to navigate. Having a smaller space, however, the wheeling of the canister does not bother me at all. This vacuum in particular has great suction and has lasted a long time. I have used this for three years and it still works great. It easily picks up the cat litter and pet hair in the carpet and the mud that gets tracked in during the winter months. The bags are really cheap to purchase and easy to change in and out. I have never had an issue with the cord not retracting or any other component breaking.
