Dirt Devil Purpose for pets M140000 —

At last I have found my favorite vacuum.  It's the Dirt Devil Purpose pet vacuum M140000.  It would be great if Scrappy (my cat) learned how to use it, but I won't hold my breath, but I still am happy with this vacuum.

What is offers:

  • Advanced Cyclonic Technology for sustained suction and less filter maintenance
  • Optimized Brushroll removes pet hair from carpet and bare floors
  • Electrostatic Pet Tools easily remove pet hair from all surfaces
  • HEPA Filtration traps 100% of common pet allergens
  • Lightweight Design
  • On-Board Tools w/ Deluxe Ready-to-Use Stretch Hose
  • Clean Release Bottom Empty Dirt Cup
  • Stair Cleaning Handle
  • 27' power cord
  • 5 position height adjust
  • 12 amp motor

This puppy sucks up like a dream.  I was vacuuming and told Scrap the true test will be with her cat condo. I attached the pet tool with rubber teeth and boy it took the hair right off.  Scrap was a little upset all of her fur was missing.  I also got a kick out of the cyclonic action and seeing what my old vacuum was missing. (It missed a lot). Just like a little twister...pretty cool.

On the down side the dirt cup fills up quickly, but it's very easy to empty. The attachment that I cleaned Scrappy's cat condo, did fall off once, but easy to replace.

I have tried this vacuum on bare floors (The kitty litter is all gone and not one grain spit back out and this is something I have had trouble with my old vacuum). Medium carpet and shag and it worked very well with all. I also like that it's light weight and only ran me $80 at Wal-mart.  The vacuum has a two year warranty so this will come in handy if I do have issues down the line. I have a good feeling about this vacuum.

I am very please with this vacuum and Scrappy isn't even afraid of this one.  I think she is making sure I am not going to suck up any of her toys just to see the action.  Cats...

NOTE 9/15/08: issues have come up with this vacuum since this review...It has a thermal heating unit and when it feels it is hot it will shut itself off. I live in a one bedroom Apt and I can vacuum the dining room and just part of the living room before is shuts itself off.  When it does shut itself off it will leave a "hair/fuzz ball".   It will sit for about 45 min before I can start it again.

Oh where were you two weeks ago mom :) I just purchased a new vacuum and right now in love with it...saved all my attachments from the last one because they fit on this one, but waiting to do a review...waiting for something to happen first HA HA...I think I jinxed myself on the of this one...giving this a six month trial first :)

Have you checked the hepa filter? Someone else had a similar problem and it was that the hepa filter was clogged.

This was a great review but you shouldn't depend on the spell check. You wrote "is" for "if" and for "it". I hate to see typos when someone does such a good job.

I told my husband what you asked George and he told me to tell you not to give me any ideas :) I don't think the fuzz ball would like that to much, but I will try it with just the tool and not the vacuum on...I will let you know!

Did you vacuum the cat, too, or just the condo? ;>
