I hate dragging out the corded vacuum and I hate to sweep and use a dust pan. This cordless broom is great for me.
I am always stepping on crumbs in the kitchen and I used to kick them under the counter until I psyched myself up to vacuum the floor.
This broom is just what I need. It's not as light as I would have liked it to be. It weighs a little less than 4 pounds but since I'm dragging it along the floor I can't complain.
I followed the instructions to charge it for 24 hours upon receipt and I was thrilled about how powerful the suction was.
I timed how long the charge lasted and it was shockingly short, only about a total 13 minutes of use (over a 4 day period). I guess most rechargeable hand vacuums aren't much better.
The instructions say to sweep without turning on the broom and when your dirt is in a pile turn on the broom to suck up the pile. I prefer keeping it on the whole time I am cleaning so I don't need to worry about the pile moving around from the room fan.
I decided to leave it charging all the time since the instructions say it won't harm the unit. It's worth it since I can now go into all the nooks and crannies that my corded vacuum had me hunting for wall outlets.
After I charged it up again the powerful suction was back. I've used it on rugs and hardwood floors and it performed beautifully.
Opening the bottom to clean is easy but cleaning the filter is a drag. I use an old toothbrush to get between the filter sections and it seems to take forever.
The dust inside the bottom catcher and filter is very fine and it might be a good idea to wear a dust mask when cleaning it if you get too close to the dust. Static electricity will also cause some fine dust to accumulate on the plastic outside the broom, especially if you valuum on a rug. I use a damp paper towel to remove the dust on the outside.
If you don't do a good job cleaning the filter, which needs cleaning at least every other use, you will probably find a loss of suction power. That may be why some other reviews are not recommending the unit.
It is a drag to have to clean it so often but I must say a regular broom would never get all the dirt this vacuum gets.
If you hate cleaning as much as I do and hate dragging around corded vacuums then this is a treat.
I say go for it.
