We have had this vacuum for almost five years now and it has worked well. It has pretty good suction power to it and has different levels that you can put it at. We have just used this for basic cleaning jobs around the house. It works best on carpet. There are some attachments that go with this vacuum as well. They come in very handy for corners, edges and stairs. I really like that you don't need bags for this vacuum. I love not having to replace bags all the time. It is very easy to empty. You have to replace a filter sometimes, but we don't replace ours very often and it works well. There is also a handle on the back for easy carrying and a place to wrap the cord around. It has foot buttons to click the vacuum on and to lower the top half of it. The vacuum itself picks up dirt really good and I haven't had any major problems with it yet. I will keep using this vacuum until it dies on me. It's a great vacuum! Maneuverability It is pretty easy to move around. There are other vacuums that turn better, but this one still works well. Ease of Maintenance There isn't a lot of maintenance to this vacuum. It's pretty easy to use and empty. The filter is easy to bang out and replace if you need to. Suction Performance The suction on this is good. Design It is just a basic vacuum design. Durability It is a strong vacuum that holds up well.

I was given this model Dirt Devil and I must say it has been handy. I love not having to purchase vacuum bags like I did on the old vacuums I had. I do warn though if you suffer with allergies as I do, dumping the dust and dirt out from this vacuum triggers sneezing spells and itchy eyes on me quite often. That is probably the biggest negative on it. It is fairly light weight and easy to use. I believe it switches easy from hard floors to carpet even though in my house it definitely works best on carpets.The size of it is great and you can store it basically anywhere. I think pulling the hose off to clean the corners is a little tricky, but it is not too bad. The brush attachments aren't too handy but they do suffice. Again, it is a gift and a nice one at that. Just be careful cleaning it out if you have allergies. I also like not having the bags, but I just wish I had somebody to clean it out for me!

As an owner of two upright bagless vacuum cleaners, I feel more that the Dirt Devil is far more superior. With the rear swivel wheels maneuvering around my apartment is a breeze. The filters work better than previous bagless vacuums that I have owned. One of my main problems with other bagless vacuum cleaners, is that the trash tends to clog up right where the hose meets the canister. Such is not the case with my Dirt Devil, the suction draws the trash to the bottom of the canister, and away from the hose. All in all I give the Dirt Devil the highest marks possible. The maintenance is on par with most brands that I have owned. Belt repair is simple, and my vacuum cleaner came with two spare belts. The only, and I do mean only problem is that my girlfriend thinks that it is too heavy, which is why we own two vacuum cleaners. I average two rooms and a hallway before emptying the canister, while my girlfriend has to empty her vacuum cleaner halfway through the living room. Thank you for taking time to read this review.
