Dirt Devil Kone Vacuum Review Summary
Reviewers really want to love the Dirt Devil Kone Vacuum. All agree that the Kone is cute. In fact, the new Dirt Devil looks nice enough to leave out where it may get used more often. There were a number of concerns with the Kone though. For starters, the Dirt Devil Kone does not have a traditional handle. That makes it hard to hold and use. Other consumers say it's a very noisy vacuum. While the Kone does pick up well, the holding area is small. This hand held vacuum must be emptied often. Reactions are mixed, but most reviewers are disappointed in the Kone.
messy, impressed with this product
Although vacuuming is not a fascinating chapter in my personal book, I must confess that I was intrigued with the Dirt Devil Kone Vacuum from the start. Finally, I caved in and bought one in a beautiful shade of gray from Drugstore.com. I still like the Dirt Devil Kone but I have come to realize and accept that it is what it is -- a handy appliance for small clean-up jobs. This is perfect for those occasions when somebody spills the popcorn but that is about the extent of what it will pick up unless you want to stop in the middle of the task and empty the receptacle. …

too busy to make beds, not very handy, a green thumb, picking up after pets, messy
Long story short, bought it, used it, I think it's broken, and I didn't do it. — Details as follows: — I'm a messy person with a messy (new) husband, and a long haired cat. The three of us have lived together nearly 4 years, and up until a month ago, had not owned any vaccum. For a wedding present, we received a couple of Bed Bath and Beyond gift cards and decided to get a vaccum. — Until we actually arrived at Bed Bath and Beyond, I figured that we would bring home something that kind of looked like a bagpipe with a plastic handle and smelled very…

married, cost conscious, looking for convenience, looking for durability, a busy professional, a homeowner
With children around the house I was looking for something that could clean up small messes with ease. After having a Dirt Devil before I knew this was a product I needed to get again. When I took it out of the box I was happy to see the design and color, but found it to be larger than I expected. Seeing on TV I thought I would keep it out in the open, but now, no. Everyone at this point knows that this is a hand-held vacuum, so I will not put it on a table, despite it's good visual design. Instead, I have it tucked behind a table. When I went to use it I was disappointed to see how clumsy it…

looking for durability, a comparison shopper, not rich, willing to pay more for quality, married, a homeowner, a woman, cost conscious
We needed a hand-held vacuum, so I immediately ordered a blue Kone. I loved the way it looked (very cool-looking) and couldn't wait to receive it. After using it for the very first time, we fell in hate with it. The shape is very asthetically pleasing, but nearly impossible to grab hold of for those quick pick-up jobs. At the very least, rubber grips should've been added to make it easier to hold. It's also very difficult to get into proper charging position. You have to keep playing with it and hope to eventually get it in the right spot (you know it's there when a small blue light…

neat freak, not very handy
I got the Dirt Devil Kone a few months back and it has all ready quit working. I sent an email to the company and the gave me two places that would reapir it. I told them I had not time, interest, or money for gas to go two counties over to a repair shop. SO much for standing behind your warranty, only if I do all the work. I threw it out and will never buy another Dirt Devil. The look good, mine was sleek and red, but do not hold up to use.…

Practical Cleaner, a busy professional, a lifetime allergy sufferer, a cat owner, looking for convenience, a homeowner, cost conscious, willing to pay for quality
I love my Kone!! I use it every day to clean up car hair and it works great. I use it to clean up stray kitty litter and to clean up what I miss when I sweep. It is noisy just like any other vaccuum but for small jobs it is so much more conveinent. — It also looks very stylish, I keep it right out in the living room and people never even know it is a vaccuum. — …

bargain shopper, married, a cat owner, a lifetime allergy sufferer, a woman, looking for convenience, not fond of cleaning
I love the look of this dustbuster but it just doesn't hold up. It is so loud and often things it sucks up come back out. It's also difficult to put it back in it's base properly. There is no indicator for how to align in and I find I am fidgeting with it to get it back in the right way. It's too bad, I was really hoping for something stylish and practical.…
