Long story short, bought it, used it, I think it's broken, and I didn't do it.
Details as follows:
I'm a messy person with a messy (new) husband, and a long haired cat. The three of us have lived together nearly 4 years, and up until a month ago, had not owned any vaccum. For a wedding present, we received a couple of Bed Bath and Beyond gift cards and decided to get a vaccum.
Until we actually arrived at Bed Bath and Beyond, I figured that we would bring home something that kind of looked like a bagpipe with a plastic handle and smelled very strongly of plastic... until I saw her- the Dirt Devil Kone. She was beautifully shaped- kind of like something a 70's cartoon character would use. If only I had read the fine lines... I actually still haven't, but I did try to clean with it.
After charging the Kone all night, I woke up, and was excited to use this bad boy... until I did. I started under the couch cushions. I had to go over those areas a couple of time, as the Kone does not have much of an appetite when it comes to crumbs. I then vaccumed up the cobwebs in the corners. After getting some of the cat hair in the corners on the floor, the Kone lost a lot of it's umph. I emptied it, and suction increased to full capacity, and after 15 minutes, the charge was more of less dead.
Not that impressive, but I decided to deal with it, because at least I don't have to hide it. What I cannot deal with is the possibility of death's approach already.
The other day, I went to use the Kone, and something is already up with the motor. I don't know what it is. I have not dropped it, but I will be calling Dirt Devil soon to see if they can assist me.
The moral of this story is...
Suction before Beauty.
