This is a very good vacuum cleaner

5

Since I have been delivering newspapers for around 20 years I find things on the curb that people should have donated to a thrift store or a charity instead of tossing them out. I pick up a lot of those things and sell them on the Web. I find vacuum cleaners all the time. More often than not they only need a good cleaning and they're fine. I do the cleaning and replace the belt and I sell them for whatever I can get. I found a Dirt Devil enVision model 086715 a couple of years ago and cleaned it up really good and replaced the belt. It had obviously been owned by someone who doesn't take care of their possessions and doesn't know squat about vacuum cleaners. I always test them before I let them go so let me just say this: This vacuum is over 10 years old and I like it so much I kept it for myself and sold the one I had been using. Disregard the bad reviews because after reading them I can easily tell that most of those are written by people with a lower IQ and/or little or no knowledge of how a vacuum cleaner works and the maintenance required to keep it working properly. Having taken so many vacuums apart I would consider myself a person who you can depend on to tell you if it's an inferior model or not. Thanks for your time. Take that you haters...LOL

Glad It Is Discontinued!!

2

I did not realize that this vacuum was discontinued, but I am glad that it is! My roommates owned this vacuum and let me have it when they moved out, so I am glad that I did not actually pay for it myself because I would be very upset if I had! The only thing that I really liked about this vacuum was that the red was a pretty, bright color. Other than that, I do not have anything positive to say about it! I believe that my roommates had this vacuum for 6 months before giving it to me, and about 2 months after I owned it, it started smoking and spitting the dirt out the back all over my feet! Thats only 8 months after this vacuum was purchased that it broke down! And to be honest, my roommates didn't use it that much, so it definitely didn't get used very many times before it stopped working! I tried to look up several ways to fix the problem of it spitting out dirt, but I couldn't figure anything out. I didn't even donate this vacuum to charity, but instead just threw it away! Thankfully this won't happen to anyone else since it is now discontinued!

I Hate It!

1

This is by far the absolute worst vacuum I have ever owned. I bought it because it was lightweight and I have tile/hardwood/terrazo flooring in my house. The back hose is constantly coming loose and then it sprays dust and dirt everywhere. The suction is virtually non-existent so it does only picks up about 20% of the dirt and cat hair on my floors. I would not, under any circumstances recommend this thing to anyone. Maneuverability It is small so it's gets around ok, but this does not make up for the lack of suction or loose hose that sprays crap everywhere. Ease of Maintenance Again, this is not an issue, but does not make up for the very serious shortcomings of this product. Suction Performance Unbelievably bad.

Not worth your money if you own pets!

2

I bought this vacuum thinking it would function as well as my old Bissel, and I was wrong. This may be a decent vacuum if you do not own pets, or dont use the attachments, or do not produce alot of dirt. The areas were this vacuum fails miserably are these: the attachment hose is stiff and short. It is not of the flexible plastic that quality vacuums are constructed, but the cheap kind that is hard and stiff. For instance, you will be vacuuming along, and you'll look down and see the hose has popped out of the suction port, rendering your effort useless. You might be using the brush attachment to get the pet hair off the furniture, and it will loosen and pop off mid stride, often flying behind my furniture, a major annoyance. If that werent bad enough, in the beginning, the pet hair will get sucked up and whirl around in the container, and exciting moment for any vacuumer. Then you notice it has gone still, but keep vacuuming all the same. The suction gradually wanes until it is no longer sufficient for your task. You pop off the filter and see that the dirt is encapsulated around the upper filter, instead of dropping down into the container like it is supposed to. Thereby after vacuuming two rooms of a 900 square foot ranch, I must unplug my filter. And here is where I mention that my two dogs only spend about and hour a day in those rooms. This vacuum is a total waste of money if you own pets or have a busy family. Spend elsewhere.

Noisy and ineffective

1

I've had this vacuum for roughly six months now and it really is a piece of junk. It's insanely noisy and for you to be able to get anything off the carpet, you have to sweep very slowly. Even then, there are pieces of lint that don't move. Occassionally it will leave a trail of dirt on the right side, so I have to vacuum over it again and again. Sometimes I opt to use my Eureka hand held vacuum just to avoid the noise and ineffectiveness of this thing.

Do not buy the Dirt Devil En Vision Bagless Wide Glide. Period

1

The Dirt Devil en vision bagless uprite is the worst vacuum ever.  It supposedly has 25% more suction power but I've never had luck with good suction from it.  I have had nothing but problems with it.  I have taken it apart and put it back together several times.  The first time I did this I was able to get it working again but not since.  I would never recommend this to anyone.

Not worth the money

Purchased this vacuum at one of the after Thanksgiving Sales because it was on sale. It doesn't work. The sunction is poor. Even with cleaning the filter regularly as it recommends, it does a poor job of picking up items.

Have used this 4 times and I'm returning it!

1

I bought this vacuum because it was on sale, we were moving to a new house with a lot of white carpet and it had a pet brush, so since we have a Golden Retriever that's an absolute must. The first time I used it, it was decent. Very loud, but had good suction. The pet brush was designed better than some other I'd seen also.  That's the end of the pros. First thing I noticed was that the hose was just...ridiculously short for those attachments. It was a struggle to use them because unless the vacuum was right under you, you couldn't get to much. Also, the hose fell out numerous times while I was vacuuming.  After the first use, I noticed the suction was getting lower and every time I went over a rug or a bump, crap would just spill out on the floor. So I cleaned the canister. I noticed that EVERYTHING was clogged. I tried to unstuff it and since I'm pregnant I really didn't appreciate having to go to those extremes with dust flying all in my face in order to vacuum my carpet for only the second time. I dealt with it once more and then today, it basically threw up on me and hurled hair and carpet fibers all over the place. I called Dirt Devil and they asked the usual questions and then said... "You might want to try shoving a broom handle up the hose and see if that works." WHAT?! I told the man I shouldn't HAVE to do that, and he said well then it sounds like you just need to return it.  So believe me, I will.

Dirt Devil Envision is poorly designed.

1

The Dirt Devil Envision is a poorly designed vacuum cleaner. After using other Dirt Devil products, I am disappointed in the performance of the Envision. The problem stems from the fact that if you use the vacuum on long fiber rugs, the fibers it pulls up plug the vacuum hose where in enters the canisiter. This requires disassembly of of the hose from the vacuum cleaner to clear the plugged hose. This has to be done DAILY if you have carpets or dust bunnies! There is a diverter to direct airflow in the canister that the fibers/dust bunnies can't get through. Removing the diverter causes the fibers to jam up on the filter itself. No easy fix for this poor design. If you have hardwood floors or indoor/outdoor carpet and just dirt particles, I guess it would work OK, but long fiber carpets or dust bunnies, look elsewhere.

Horrible Vaccum

1

This is my first review where I have nothing good to say about the product. NOTHING!!! This is the absolute WORST vacuum I have ever used in my life. Where should I start? First of all, this vacuum is waaaay too big and clunky. I especially hate it when going up and down the staircases. I'd rather use my smaller and more stair-friendly Eureka vacuum. Let's talk about the performance of this vaccum. When I first started using it, it was ok. Now, it hardly even works! It doesn't pick up anything, but manages to leave around huge clumps of dustballs, that I have to manually pick up. Then when it vacuums, it leaves aound random lines. I'm like, what in the world??? It makes vacuuming a total nightmare. And none of these things I expect from a quality brand like Dirt Devil. I'll never buy another one again, that's for sure!! Overall, I don't recommend this vacuum to anyone, considering the fact that it is clunnky and loses it's suction.
