Direct TV was a poor choice. I signed up in response to the swtich to digital. The only thing worst than having a decision fostered upon you, is to have to pay big bucks for poor service. At installation we had technicians who weren't capable and left before all questions were answered and the salesman promised functions were performed. Then when I call customer service for assistance, I was told the issue was my problem since it wasn't taken care of before the technician left. Aside from not doing as promised - I had a formatting issue that wasn't fixed with their current procedure. Their suggestions was for me to try another basic receiver. When it was shipped out and I called to activate, I was told by another technician that it won't work so I'll have to ship it back ASAP or be charged. Then he proceeded to say that the only fix was to upgrade to a HD Receiver and subscription. I spent weeks calling back trying to get some sort of action or technical help. I eventually went up to a manager, who wouldn't budge on charging me full price on a trade to the HD receiver - even though they currently had a special where it was free. Their logic was that I was already a current customer so specials didn't apply - even though I had be calling on this problem since day one. I gave up and said fine - hook me up, gotta get this fixed, I'll just bite the bullet. Then they come out and couldn't make the installation due to my location. No biggee that happens and the installation and equipment was cancelled and taken back that day by the technician. I finally went to someone else for help me with my issues and got them resolved that way - I had to Direct TV wasn't sending anyone out. Now I am being charged by Direct TV for the equipment that wasn't needed or installed. I have just attempted to have the charges reversed for the second time. They are sorry, but I keep paying....And may I add my antenna has better picture quality.
