I recently switched to Direct TV after a really horrible experience with Dish Network. It took almost a month to get an installation date, but I attribute that the change to digital TV in 2009. The installer that came to my house was from the East St. Louis area, working in Springfield to help the installers there complete all of their jobs. He brought a trainee with him that was also from East St. Louis. They were both very friendly and the main installer was extremely knowledgeable about the Direct TV system. The entire installation process went very smoothly and I have had no problems since. In addition, I have the same amount of channels as I did with Dish Network, but it seems like there are more. Maybe they just have more channels that I watch that are available in the package that I have. Either way, I am very satisfied with my programming. I received a DVR with my service and absolutely love it! I am able to record two different programs at the same time, while watching another channel completely. This is a feature that was not available with my Dish Network DVR. All in all, I am very happy that I switched to Direct TV and hope that my pleasant experience continues throughout my service contract with them.
