I have had Direct TV for at least five years. Although I like the DVR service, the price and problems are not really worth it. The first two years in my house, I had horrible reception even though I live on top of a hill and have no trees blocking the satellite. The wires on the house for the satellite area also a bit of an eyesore. After upgrading to a new dish, I have not had any further reception problems. However, I have problems with three of the DVR's I have gone through so far. The worst part is that the company will send you a new one in return but you have to sign another one year contract. I won't even go into how bad the customer service is! I used to recommend Direct TV to others, but now with several cable companies having their own DVR's, I wouldn't bother recommending it anymore and will likely change to another service when my year is up.
