I have Direct TV only b/c it is the ONLY service provider that carries the rights to the NFL Sunday ticket. If it wasn't for that, I'd most likely have whatever the local cable company provides. I've never had a problem when calling their customer service numbers, but I do know that they outsource their techs that come to the house. These outsourced techs will do shotty work and half-ass EVERYTHING.
My biggest problem is that the signal drops even with the smallest amount of bad weather. Two weeks ago, I was waiting to watch a movie at 8pm and it became extremely cloudy outside, no rain, no wind, just cloudy, and my reception was gone. DirectTV claims 99% coverage if you have HD, which I do, and my signal still drops WAY to often.
On the postive side, they do have the most HD Channels.
