I have had Directv for about 8 years now and have never had any problems until we tried to upgrade to HD. What a fiasco! After 2 hours (literally) on the phone with customer service, I finally got what I wanted but it caused me alot of stress in the meantime. (Really long story). I hate that they offer new customers the sun and moon and basically tell their existing customers to go pound rock salt---until you threaten--I MEAN REALLY THREATEN--to discontinue service and then they backtrack. The problem is, I hate Dish network more and I hate cable most of all. I like the channel selection that directv has and I like the HD channels--in our area, directv has the most. THe price doesn't go up near as much and as often as cable so that makes directv my provider by default. The service itself is good but I REALLY hate the customer service/technical assistance phone people.
