Nice quality picture, but no locals available in small towns!

Pros

    Customer Service Plus, free equipment with free installation, more channels/packages than cable, Easy to put service on hold, price better than cable, Works with all televisions, No problems moving service, friendly, Service Not Interrupted Often, Price Comparable to Cable, Quick Set-Up, Lots of options for kids, Family Friendly Packages, Crystal Clear Channels, great picture

Cons
    3 wks to get a svc. tech out, it costs to add anything, Too many extra fees, Installers so unprofessional, Alrdy a cust, 300 plus 2 switch 2 HD, charge for additional box, messy installers, Constant raising prices, Updates frequintly without notice, NO free equipment for longterm customers, Additional receiver fee, channels dropped from package often, poor installers, Inaccuracy of monthly bills, Misleading Price Quotes, Put on hold for a LONG time, don't carry my local channels, not rural friendly

I have had Directv for about 4 years now and while they are a good reliable company they still have their problems. I love that I don't have to worry about my signal going out in the middle of bad weather and that the equipment that was given to me is nice and strong. However, it seems like every month they are changing the packages without any type of notice and if you don't change with them then your pricing goes up. Don't try to call at any time of the day or night because you are going to be placed on hold for a mandatory 5 minutes at least, but at least when they answer they will handle your problem as quickly as they can. Service men are very under trained. My husband had to go behind him and redo all the connections because he did not do it right and the whole time he was on the phone with his girlfriend. A tree limb fell on one of our lines and we tried to call a service man out, it took them 2 1/2 weeks to get there and then had nerve to charge 150 dollars for the service call.
