I didn't have cable or satelite or anything but old rabbit ears on my TV for about 10 years. I decided to get satelite TV since my girlfriend would be moving in soon and there was a bundle offer with AT&T. I already had AT&T for home phone, internet & cell phone, so I figured it would be a good deal to bundle (plus the cash back bonus too). I've had it now for a few months and really love the channel selection and the fact that you can pick your favorite channels and only scroll through those (and thus skip over all the pay per views, etc.). The installation service was less than an hour and the guy was really nice. I also got the DVR upgrade and love that feature too. I've heard that Time Warner's prices & fees keep going up, but since I bundled my DirecTV, I don't have to worry about that - I pay $72.00 a month for one DVR unit in the living room and one regular unit for the bedroom.
