I have this in my car for my 5 year old granddaughter and its great. Its lightweight and easy to transfer to another car. She approves and so do I

I quite like this car seat - it's easy to install, easy to adjust, reclines with the vehicle seats and folds conveniently for travel. Ease of Installation Click, click, pull - done. It really is just that simple. Child's Comfort My son is 8 and rides in this seat. He still falls asleep on long rides and this seat keeps his head where it should be with no complaints about being uncomfortable. We are a car trip family - he spends a lot of time during the summer months in this seat. Support and Safety This booster seat has some of the highest safety ratings out there. The wings on the head rest prevent a child's head from going sideways should a side impact collision occur. Ease of Use Adjusting the height of the headrest is quite simple, installation is a breeze (see above). The cupholders fold into the seat when not in use. Design My only complaint with this seat is that the belt guides are awkward to use. In our car (Honda CR-V) the shoulder belt is too low to retract properly leaving the belt to dangle out the door. Durability We've been using this seat for 2 years and while it's still in great shape, the cover has significant sun fading which is simply cosmetic.

I own two Sunshine Kids Montereys for my eight year old son. They are big enough to accomodate larger kids who aren't ready for a seat-belt without booster. My son loves how comfortable it is. It's great that you can widen the back, to fit huskier kids better! It also accomodates tall kids, keeping them in a high-back booster as long as possible. I love that the booster seat has the latch option, so I never have to worry about the booster seat becoming a projecticle in an accident if it's not occupied. The seat is quite big and heavy, so it's probably not the best booster option if you're needing to have 3-across or if you need to transfer it from one vehicle to another.The only downside if that the seatbelt always falls out of the belt loop on the shoulder. Every time we buckle up, I have to rethread the belt. I much preferred the older style loops from several years back.

We got this seat for our minivan which has captain's chairs so the size of the seat does not matter. It looks very comfortable although my daughter says that the less expensive Graco Turbobooster we have in the other car is equally or more comfortable. (Looking at the padding of both seats, that is hard for me to believe.) Our daughter recently rode in this seat during a long car drive (9+ hours) and did not complain once. Safety is our highest priority so we were pleased with the excellent safety ratings for this seat. The cup holders work well and I like being able to install the seat with the LATCH connectors so I don't have to worry about the heavy seat flying around our backseat when she is in the car. It can be used without the LATCH connectors which is also helpful because I like to be able to put it in the middle of the backseat of our sedan occassionally and LATCH is not available there. This seat is very large and heavy compared to most high back boosters, however, so it is not for everyone or every car. The only other drawback is that it does not convert into a backless booster when the highback booster is outgrown.

We bought the Sunshine Kids Monterey seat after much research.  We needed a comfortable booster seat for our 6 year old for long trips in the car.  I wanted her to have a backed booster with side impact protection and this was the perfect seat.  We also have a Turbobooster for short trips in the vehicle she rarely rides in.  To compare the two, the Monterey is wider and much softer.  There is more cushion in the seat, and the material is much softer.  I believe they both meet safety ratings, but for a child to remain sitting correctly for a long time in a car, I think they need to have a soft comfortable, yet safe seat and this is perfect.  We are able now to take off the back and use just the bottom.  Converting is a cinch and takes only seconds.  She still uses the back on long trips and uses the headrest to keep her upright when she's sleepy.  Great seat! The only thing I don't like about the seat material is it's easily stained.  It's suede like, and shows water marks easily. Oh, and we love the cupholders!!!

This booster is a great purchase for the price. We were looking for a narrow booster to fit between two other car seats for our six year old son. This booster has been a great product for our family. It's sleek and narrow design allows it to take up minimal room while still being completely comfortable for our growing child. The head rests on each side provide safety and comfort. It adjusts in many ways to provide the best fit for your car and comfort for your child. It can also come apart as a backless boost which we have not used yet. The cup holders easily move in and out on both sides. I feel confident that my child is well protected in this booster seat. This seat is well worth the money for all the features and peace of mind it will provide.

I was having trouble getting my 6 year old to sit up correctly in his old booster mainly because the depth wasnt long enough for his long legs.  So, my mom in law and I did research and discovered this one had a deeper seat.  It has been very comfortable for him and he loves the color.  Only draw back is he wishes the arm rests were a bit more prominent.  It's not a small seat but it's comfy.

I bought this booster seat because it was given a high safety rating.  It was very pretty with its pink and gray design.  The seat is a durable mesh.  You cannot remove all the covers for cleanup but I bought a mild cleaning spray and it cleaned up like new when my daughter spilled juice all over the seat.  I like to adjustable headrest and it in comfortable for her on long trips.  She falls a sleep in the seat she isn't slumped over.  It was a little difficult to have it attach to the base but after rereading the directions several times I did figure it out.  My main focus was saftey and I feel that my daughter is protected in this seat.  We bought 2 so she has one in each of the cars.  It was more expensive but the weight limit was high and I know it will grow with her.

We purchased the Sunshine Kids Monterey carseat over a year ago for my daughter and absolutely love it.  My daughter has been very comfortable in the car seat and the latch system ensures that it is very secure in our car.  We have adjusted the seat as she grows.  The detachable booster is great for traveling as well as for carpool situations.  The car seat also folds up very compactly for travel.  The one we purchased came with a travel bag that makes going through airports a breeze.  The cup holders have been very durable and useful and the fabric has cleaned up well from the little spills we have had.   I was a little worried about making the switch from a 5 pt harness but I feel she is very secure in this seat.   I also did a lot of safety research and for the price the safety reviews were A+.  Overall we are very satisfied customers for over a year and like this seat so much that we purchased a second one for our other car.

As a child passenger safety instructor, we are taught to not be brand specific.  We know that all car seats have to pass minimum safety standards in order to be on the market, but I can't rave about the Monterey booster enough.  My almost 7 year old is primarily still in a 5pt harness, but does ride in a booster occasionally.  She loves the booster.  It has incredible side impact protection that goes from head down to the base, plush and can be latched into your vehicle.  This booster can also be used as a backless booster.  It has a narrow base and the torso part can expand with the child as they grow.  This is also one of the tallest boosters on the market today.  Height guideline is 63" and weight guideline is 120lbs!  My daughter is all legs and this is booster is nice and deep to accomodate her long legs.  I'm having trouble finding any cons to this booster.  I feel very comfortable with her riding in a Monterey booster and would recommend it to anyone shopping for one.
