My family and I had some down time while in Florida between hitting the main Orlando and Miami area attractions when we found a flier for Dinosaur World. We decided to give it a try.
Where is it?
In plant City, FL, 20 minutes from Tampa and one hour from Orlando.
What is it?
Dinosaur Worldis an outdoor attraction that features 150 life-like statues of dinosaurs. It is a Dino-lover's dream come true! It features a variety of creatures in a natural setting with a paved path to stroll along. Each dinosaur is accompanied by an informational sign. Beyond the trails is a fossil area, caves, picnic areas and a gift shop with tons of cool things.
Especially for Kids
Activities just for kids include a play area, a sand box bone-yard and a dinosaur dig to find fossils. Participants get to take home three of the fossils they find as a memoir of their Dino adventure.
What Does it cost?
Compared to other Florida attractions, the pricing for Dinosaur World is pretty reasonable. It is $12.75 for adults and $9.75 per child 3-12. Seniors over 60 get in for $10.75.
Recommendation
Keeping in mind that a trek through Dinosaur World is not as exciting as seeing live animals and it is not an all day activity, it is worth it to check it out just once. Anyone fascinated by dinosaurs will be fascinated with this place!
