We love the Dinosaur! It's the only place I know you can find bikers, in their leathers and colors, sitting next to guys in three-piece suits with their Blackberries, enjoying an adult beverage together. Every time we go, the waitress (we love you, Maria!) remembers us and everyone welcomes us. The food is great and the entertainment (whether a live band or just people watching) is always enjoyable. Dinosaur Bar-B-Que has excellent food and great service, parking is very very limited but down the street by court is a parking lot.  You can smell the aroma of BBQ'd meats before you enter.  There is a wide variety of diners enjoying all kinds of southern styled dishes, but even with the emense popularity of this restaurant I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes to be seated.  The staff is polite and knowledgeable and the service is superb as well.  If you are in rochester and are looking for an enjoyable experience this is the place to… read full review »

The Dinosaur has awesome BBQ food that can't be beat anywhere else. There is one in Syracuse, NY which was the original first one opened up followed by Rochester,NY and now one in NYC. — You have not had BBQ food until you have been here-I have been at both several times over and have never had anything that did not taste good..and it's true-bikers and 3 piece suits from work sit together for a drink as well as construction workers-it blow's your mind away. This restaurant became one of Rochester's most popular restaurants as soon as it opened. While the packed restaurant may force you to wait, it certainly enhances the atmosphere. The food is worth the wait though, and the service is always extremely friendly. Also, their stated wait times are often pretty conservative, so you usually don't wait as long as they state.
