Nikon - COOLPIX L5 Digital Camera
My son uses this camera and he has taken great pictures from it. In general, this camera works well. The quality of the photos is outstanding for a non-SLR digital camera. The only drawbacks are that the zoom is not powerful enough, the digital zoom is too pixelated, and that the focus is inconsistent. Nikon - D50 Digital Camera
I have been using the Nikon D50 with my students in photography for the last semester and I must say that these cameras are built like tanks. Kids really don't care for them well, but there have been no issues with any of them so far except for a vandalized USB port. I purchased the Nikon Coolpix s600 digital camera about a year and a half ago. I purchased this model because I did a lot of research and I wanted to purchase the camera that was the fastest--you know, where I could quickly point and shoot and catch the photo I wanted to catch without having to wait for it to focus or whatever.

Canon - SD780 IS Digital Camera
I received a Canon PowerShot SD870 IS for my birthday this past summer, and what a great gift it is! First of all, it's adorable and I got the red version - it also comes in silver, gold, and black. I'm no photography expert but this camera makes my photos look professional! It's me usually asking the kids "which button does this and what does this button do" well not anymore, this camera is so easy I can figure it out without assistance from the kids. Easy location for all buttons, nice size not too heavy, I really like the feature where you can pick the shutter speed and how many pictures in a row it will take on auto shoot. Nice size viewing area, never had any problems, good size internal memory.
Canon - PowerShot A410 Digital Camera
I have had much experience with Canon digital cameras. Most of my experiences have been positive with them. The recently released Canon Powershot A410 combines all the positive aspects of Canon digital cameras into a well-rounded product. 3.2 megapixels is enough for any average photographer. The best thing in my opinion is the 3.2 optical zoom. Many times you don't find an optical zoom on cameras in this price range. I have a Kodak M1073 Easy Share camera. I don't have the dock that goes with it. I've had it at least six months and it has taken me that long to learn how to use it. The features displayed on the camera are so small that they are very difficult to use.

This camera is great. It takes awesome pictures that dont blur when you try to enlarge them. The camera makes it easy for you to bring pictures in to focus and is easy to use. I like that it is easy to tranfer the pictures from the camera to the computer and that it doesn't take much time to do it.
