This works!

My face started breaking out as an adult, with adult acne. The worst was my cheeks and blackheads on my nose and chin. I tried various products, with various active ingredients and nothing worked. I was recommended this from a friend of mine and figured I would give it a try. Within 3 weeks, I started seeing a difference in my face. My blackheads slowly were clearing up and my face felt much smoother. I am still using this and as of now this will be my go to product for adult acne. My fiance also uses it as a spot treatment for a fast fix. The only reason I gave it 4 starts instead of 5 was due to the excessive drying of my face that occured the 1st week of use, this is expected though! I highly recommend to anyone that is suffering from any type of acne. THIS WILL CLEAR YOUR FACE! The best part? No prescription needed!

one of the best acne treatments

Differen is a topical cream, gel, that is prescribed by a dermatologists to help remove acne. Differen has no color or odder. My experience with diffener was positive, for the most part. The acne that I had was mostly on my forehead. They did not itch, they were not painful, and they were not the type of pimples that looked as if the were going to burst at any second, but they did take over my forehead. After trying many over the counter acne treatments, I decided it was time to visit a professional. This was because although the over the counter topical creams worked in the beginning, with-in a few weeks blemishes would appear on my skin. The dermatologist prescribed differen gel to me. After about two weeks or less my skin cleared up. At school everyone noticed a difference in my complexion. Unlike other topical creams, differen does not stop working a few moths after use. My skin stayed clear and smooth. The only problem that I had with differen is that it dried my skin. My dermatologists simply told me to use less of the product or to use it every other day, the choice was mine. Even now, a few years later, when my skin misbehaves, I use differen for a while to clear everything up.

Differin-best acne treatment I've ever used!

5

I'm 18 years old and I've been using Differin gel for so long that I can't remember when I first started!  It has gotten rid of my moderate acne and prevents new blemishes from forming.  Every morning and night I was my face with Cetaphil gentle cleanser, moisturize with Terra Firma NutriSkin, and then I appy Differin only to my problem areas - my forehead, nose, upper cheeks, chin, and around my mouth.  Differin has helped me so much and works better than any other acne treatment I've used from my dermatologist.  It fights acne and doesn't dry out my skin like ProActiv did. I do recommend starting out slowly at first.  For example only using it every other day.  If you immediately start using it all the time then it can dry out your skin a little, but if you give your skin a chance to get used to it then you shouldn't have any problems. Differin is a powerful, yet gentle gel that has pretty much saved my life.  I'm pretty sure I will never switch to any other acne treatment.  Whenever my friends come over they ask to use it and one of them has even requested it from her dermatologist.  I highly recommend it.

Didn't work for me

1

I tried this product after Proactive did not work for me. I am sad to say this product also did not work for me! It made my skin peel and I was extremely sensitive to temperature changes as well as the sun (to be fair it is listed under side effects and recommended that a sun screen also be used). I used it right before my wedding so I had been hoping that in combination with antibiotics it would be effective. Which brings me to another issue: I was prescribed this medication in conjunction with antibiotics. I think that long term use of the products would be of more harm than benefit. Another issue I had was with the severity of the birth defects if one would happen to conceive a child while using this product it is recommended that double birth control methods be used. Since I was using it short term before the wedding I thought it would be okay if I used it short term. But again long term it scared me. Overall, I'd rather use something OTC.

Differin Topical Acne Treatment Medication

This is the only acne medication that seems to work for me. I tried many other types, but most of them left my skin feeling very irritated. So much so that I would have to rinse other topical acne treatment medication off of my face sometimes because of the burning sensation. After this happening more than twice a week I stumbled across the Differin Topical Acne Treatment Medication which has made all the difference. It only takes a few pumps of the medication to get the job done, and it goes on very smoothly. This medication has never left my skin feeling irritated. Even when applying this medication to areas where sore bumps are is painless. I also have sensitive eyes and like the fact that I can get close to my eyes with this acne medication without my eyes starting to burn. Great product, I feel like this is a good topical acne treatment medication for people of all ages. A+++ product. Prescription needed.

Differin is the best topical acne product I have found

5

After spending years trying every acne cream and wash and every pill the dermatologist would prescribe, I finally tried Differin Topical Acne Treatment and it worked wonderfully. I have never had an acne treatment work so well and so quickly. I would put it on at night before I went to bed, and wake up and be able to see the difference in my face. I have also had a lot of problems with treatments being too abrasive for my skin, but this was gentle enough to not irritate my skin. It kept my skin pretty dry sometimes, to the point where I would feel like I looked better without makeup because it would clump around the dry skin, but as long as I didn't wear makeup you couldn't really see the dry skin on my face. It does bleach anything it comes into contact with. It actually makes your face a little bit lighter, and if you get it on your hair and get in the sun without washing it off, it will bleach whatever hair it touches too. It will also bleach your pillowcase if you wear it at night, so don't use a pillowcase that you have an attachment too. All in all, I had very severe acne, and this really helped to start clear it up.

Tazorac is better than Differin

1

Tried this on my son for acne. Pushed aggressively by dermatoligist. Changed from Tazorac which was helping to this. I met someone who reccomended a basic Sulfur Pomade and Sulfur soap to be used daily and it worked better than all of the products perscribed.

Great for large stubborn acne

In college, I started getting large purple acne bumps on the side of my face. After going to the dermatologist, I was prescribed Differin for sebaceous cysts. When I first started using it, it almost 'burned' my skin. The I got into the car and drove for about three hours home from college. When I got home, I found that because I had been using the medicine my skin reacted with the sun and resulted in a minor sunburn. Also, just as the doctor suggested, my skin got much worse before it got better. However, it is all worth it. In the end, the medicine got rid of the sebaceous cysts and cleared up my acne. Then I had kids, and my hormones went array again. I keep a tube on hand for a 'flair' up. Now when I get a zit or cysts, I 'nuke' it. I make sure my face is clean and apply the Differin gel about four times a day to get rid of it quickly. It will howver dry out your face and causes peeling. All this being said, I do recommend Differin. It works!

I'm in love!

So, I've had acne since I was around 10 or 11 years old, and I unfortunately have the habit of picking at my acne if my hands are busy, so my face previously had LOTS of gross, painful, and red scars. I started using this product about 6 months ago and I'm a bit lazy, so I don't even use it every day, but I have PICTURES to prove how well this stuff works! You can see all the scars from six months ago and compare it to my current pictures and you can see there are no more of those red "open" scars on my face. There are still some light black residual scars, but I have no doubt that they too will vanish after a bit more time (and a bit more religious usage). A warning though: it might seem like this is giving you acne, but that's how it works: it gets worse before it gets better, so give it some time! Also, it makes your skin EXTREMELY dry, so invest in a good moisturizer and don't be shocked if you whip out your mirror in the middle of the day and see your skin flaking! I promise, though, it's worth it!

Can be a waste of your time!

I've been having an acne problem since high school and it really sucks. As an adult, it's beyond embarassing to still have blemish problems to say the least. Even though I am not the worst case out there, i still feel insecure about it. I decided to try this product from the recommendations of a dermotologist. In all honesty, it was really a waste of my time and money. First of all, after a couple of uses, it dried my skin out completely. I even started to have dry skin on my eyelids! One big problem i had is that I exercise a lot, and so sweat a whole lot. when i sweat, my skin would just burn! it was soo bad and my face would be completely red. even though i would use this product at night and made sure to put on face lotion to combat the dryness, it wouldn't work! another problem was the winter. since it was very windy, my skin would become extra dry, causing even more pain and irritation. I dont recommend this product unless u really have tough skin....
