What is it?
Differin is a topical gel that is applied to the face for those who suffer from severe acne breakouts. It can not be purchased over the counter. It must be prescribed by a Doctor, usually a Dermatologist. It can be very expensive if you don't have insurance. Our receipt said it was $207.00. Thankfully our insurance covers it and we only paid a $15.00 copay for Differin.
You shouldn't expose yourself to prolonged periods of sunlight while using Differin as it makes your skin more sensitive to burning.

I've had it since I was a teen and although I've been able to control it somewhat with ProActiv and other topical treatments, it always flares up and I look awful and feel awful about myself. I recently went to my dermatologist who put me on very low dose oral antibiotics to control the problem and they have helped a great deal. She also put me on two topical treatments to help control the acne as well.
