Great for our lab

We switched from Iams to Diamond Natural due to our lab getting ear infections, and our vet said that dog food containing wheat can cause/exacerbate ear infections. It seemed impossible to find a brand that didn't contain wheat, but the vet recommended this and told us where to find it. Now that we've switched (it's been close to a year), our yellow lab hasn't gotten any ear infections at all. This brand seems to be a bit pricey, but in this case, you get what you pay for. It can be difficult to find, as we can't find this brand at any of the chain pet stores near us. We finally found a store that carries it, though it's not near our house. So it's difficult to find, but worth it to prevent our dog from having ear infections. We're happy we switched and will not be going back to the cheaper brands. Quality of Ingredients Much higher quality than the typical commercial brand. Flavor Selection Our dog seems to love it- we don't have any problem with her being hungry for it, so clearly the flavor is just fine.

Good for Large Breed dogs with allergies

I have a two dogs, one is a mixed rescue dog that is 67 lbs, and one is a GSD that is 160 lbs. The smaller of the two has had no issues no matter what I feed him. The GSD has had multiple issues with dog food. We used IAMS, but after using it for a while noticed the inside of the GSD's ears were red inside. He kept wanting to scratch his ears, and at one point had them bleeding a bit. We took him to the vet and he said he had an ear infection. After that one cleared up, we noticed the same things started happening to his ears, this time no infection though. After some talking with friends and family and doing research, we thought it could be the dog food. We switched him over to beneful healthy radiance dog food. We notice the ear problem clear up, but noticed that his coat started to smell bad even after washing him in oatmeal bath after a week. My brother, who has two beagles, said his vet recommended Diamond dog food, as he also was using beneful for his dogs and had the same issues with the coats of the dogs smelling bad. We decided to feed our dogs Diamond Naturals Large Breed Lamb and Rice dog food. We like it because it has no fillers, no corn, whey, or wheat products in it. I also like that it comes in large breed size so that the food is not so small for my dogs to chew. My mixed breed hates small sized food. After about a month on the food the GSD skin and coat improved greatly. He no longer smelled a week after giving him a bath, and the change didn't seem to irritate his ears either. I know there are more expensive brand dog foods out there that is probably better than Diamonds, but with two large dogs, they go through a lot of food in a month. Diamonds seems to keep the dogs healthy and they like the taste of it too. The only downfall I see is besides getting the large breed lamb and rice formula online and shipped to your house, it isn't always easy to find it in a store near us as they are out of it often. Sometimes we change to the large breed chicken and rice formula when this happens and neither dog seems to care either way. Quality of Ingredients I like that they contain no fillers, like corn, whey, and wheat. For what you pay for it, it is not a bad product and certainly trumps over the massive selections of brands most grocery stores carry and are massed produced. Flavor Selection We like that the they have lamb and rice and chicken and rice for large breed dogs. Sometimes my GSD has a bit of a baby belly and these two meats seem to sit well with both my dogs. Only issues I have is finding the large breed lamb and rice in stock at a store near me at times.

Love this dog food. Especially great for sensitive pets.

The lamb and rice formula is the best dog food to date and only rivaled by their "high protein athletic dog" formula. The ingredients are more like a high priced and highly advertised dog food. The rice will agree with grain sensitive dogs. Better than the "designer" dog foods at double the price. We buy ours where we buy our plywood and like it more than the expensive foods we tried at the specialty dog stores. Quality of Ingredients Excellent natural ingredients that are more like the foods dogs would choose to eat for their health. Our dog generally breaks out from even the high priced dog foods and this line of "natural dog food" has been a perfect fit. Lamb and rice really work well for dogs that have food allergies. Flavor Selection One flavor but our dogs love it. One dog actually likes to lick the food first because it is so tasty. At least that is what she says!

Best quality for the price

I have bought and fed my dog Diamond Naturals dog food ever since our bad experience with the Exceed food and she did wonderfully on the Diamond Naturals, we would switch between the Lamb and Rice formula and the Chicken and Rice formula.  Her coat got a lot smoother and softer after we switched dog foods and she happy ate the food without encouragement.  Although Diamond isn't the best quality of dog food out there it's higher quality then some of the foods on the market, and you can't beat the price.  I love the fact that there is no corn, wheat, or soy in the Naturals line of food, as a lot of dogs are now developing allergies to those ingredients.  The only complaint I have is that I wish that the pieces of food were a bit larger to help a bit with tarter.  Overall I would recommend this food to anyone who is looking for a better food for their dogs but can't afford to buy the super premium dog foods. Quality of Ingredients Great food no fillers like corn, wheat, or soy!
