Dial Basics HypoAllergenic Bar Soap

Best in Class

This is hands down the best soap for sensitive skin and skin afflictions that I have ever tried. It may not be the most luxurious bar but it has no unpleasant effects on the skin and gets the job done. No dryness or tightness as though the natural oils have all been stripped away. It's cleansing, with a foamy lather, and doesn't leave the feeling of residue. This has never caused any irritation for me or anyone I know, and my skin is very fair and very sensitive to everything. Some supposedly hypo-allergenic products give me a rash but this never does. And I can use it on skin that is already irritated or inflamed without discomfort or worsening of symptoms. This bar is boring and un exciting, unless you have spent years searching unsuccessfully for a bar soap that will help you defeat the crimson scourge of dermatitis. Then look no further, this bar is your long anticipated savior. It's not organic or luxurious or special in any way. I wouldn't recommend it if you don't need it. But if you do need it, you'll be happy to know the price is usually low. My main complaint is that it's not in stock at the two stores where I do my daily and weekly shopping. And though it's cheap, I still sometimes try other brands because I have a coupon and I want the excitement of something with an actual scent. This soap just smells like soap.

I bought this mainly because I had a coupon and my daughter is sensitive to a lot of soaps and other personal care products. Upon first opening it I wasn't very sure about using it, the scent threw me off a bit. But it's supposed to be Hypo Allergenic right? I didn't think there would be any smell at all, but there is and it's really hard to describe, not exactly disgusting but not something I'm going to look forward to on a daily basis either. But for the price you can beat it. A hypoallergenic soap that actually works and is gentle on my daughter's skin is what I was looking for, and dial delivered just that. Effectiveness It's very gentle on your skin and lathers up nicely and washes off easily leaving behind no residue on your skin. My daughter really likes it and says her skin doesn't itch or get irritated after using it. Scent I could do without the faint scent of this product. I just find it very off putting, but I'm a little sensitive to smells so it might be fine to others.

NOT Unscented, and an Okay Soap

For those of you who are looking for unscented hypoallergenic soap, Dial Basics is not it. This is a basic soap of mediocre quality that has a floral smell reminiscent of older soaps of the past. Effectiveness Although this soap claims to be hypoallergenic, I must point out that it has a pretty substantial fake smelling floral fragrance. Many people who are looking for non-allergenic soaps need to have no scent at all. This soap is not for you. As for performance, it is an okay soap. It left my skin feeling a bit dry, but not as bad as some body washes. I also noticed that it didn't melt quite as fast as some soaps which disappear in a few days. It does not last nearly as long as the Sallyeander soaps which our family can get at least four months out of in the shower. INGREDIENTS FOR SENSITIVE PEOPLE WHO NEED TO KNOW: Soap (Sodium Cocoate or Palm Kernelate, Sodium Palmate, Sodium Tallowate (Contains One or More of These Ingredients)), Water (Aqua), Talc, Coconut Acid, Palm Acid, Tallow Acid, Palm Kernel Acid (Contains One or More of These Ingredients), Glycerin, Fragrance (Parfum), Sorbitol, Sodium Chloride, Pentasodium Penetate, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891). Scent I am not overly thrilled with the scent of this soap. It has a bit of a phoney flower smell to it- something that is neither thrilling nor repulsive, but I am not a big fan of it. I prefer more natural smelling soaps myself.

The name for this soap "Dial Basics Hypoallergenic" is very fitting. It is just your basic bar of soap. I was looking for an inexpensive soap to use that was a step above Ivory soap. I also have sensitive skin so i was looking for one that would provide a cleansing without drying my skin out and without causing any sort of reaction. This is a great bar of soap because it does not dry out your skin like Ivory does. If you are looking for a soap that leaves a pleasant scent on your skin, this is NOT it. This soap seems to last longer than many bars of soap. Overall the main reasons why I enjoy this soap include: - Non drying - Great cleanser - Lasts longer than many soap bars - Hypoallergenic - Very inexpensive - Higher quality than other expensive soaps The only reason I didn't give this more than 3 stars is because it is very basic and didn't leave my skin especially soft and it didn't have any features that really made me love this soap. I would buy this soap again and I would recommend it if you're looking for soap on a budget.

A nice soap that doesn't hurt your skin.

Dial Basics soap is a white soap that comes in three-packs similar to the way Ivory does, but I find this soap isn't as drying to my skin as Ivory. The bars are not huge, but that's convenient for me. I put one in the tub and one next to the sink. I live in an arid climate so I have to use something that isn't too hard on the skin. Even the men here swallow their pride and get body wash instead of bar soap. I find this soap works pretty well, however. I'm allergic to some soaps, lotions and other products. That's why I decided to try this hypoallergenic soap. I've found that claim to be right so far. It hasn't caused me any problems. I'm not too fond of liquid soap or body wash because the plastic containers are thrown away and won't biodegrade. There are probably a lot of soap bottles in landfills. I found this soap at Big Lots for a good price and I'll get more when I go back there. Overall, this is a good soap that won't break the budget.
