I watched "Six Feet Under" and loved the quirkiness of the characters and only tuned in to the first episode or Dexter to see the main actor. I fell in love with the show. Dexter works on so many levels. Dokes speaks (spoke) what ever was in his head o lot of the times saying what my reaction would have been. The narration lets you stay inside of Dexter's head and the range is from confusing to hilarious but it never misses a beat.
I admit this show is probably not for everyone. There is "overkill" a lot of weeks with the amount of blood and the language is not suitable for children. Then again, this is not a show for kids. It is for adults to just escape and for 1 episode a week you definitely escape your every day life.
