Devil Wears Prada Review Summary
Viewpoints movie reviewers find
Devil Wears Prada doesn't quite measure up to its expectations. They feel
"the name is more clever than the film," and enjoyed the performances of stars Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Stanley Tucci much more than the actual storyline itself. Hathaway stars in this chick flick as a young writer who takes an assistant's job at a fashion magazine and finds she's "way out of her league." Based on the
Devil Wears Prada novel, reviewers found a
"subtle moral to an otherwise outrageous flick," yet while it was funny in some parts, others dragged. Chick flicks fans that want a little more of an edge might want to give
Sex and the City a shot.

Critical Review
Originally, I had no huge desire to see The Devil Wears Prada, as although it's a chick flick which usually winds up in my must see pile, something about it just wasn't that alluring. Yet, the more I saw raves for it, especially the performances of Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, it made me think I…

Okay, a couple of stipulations are in order before I roll on with this review. First, Anne Hathaway (Ella Enchanted, Havoc, Brokeback Mountain) has the most luscious set of lips I have ever seen on a Caucasian woman-yes even more sensual than Angela Jolie. And second I love, love, love Meryl Streep (The Bridges of Madison County, Silkwood), and her performance in this movie, Devil Wears Prada was certainly on par with the rest of her body of work. That being said the aforementioned movie Devil Wear Prada was a…

I read the book first, and enjoyed the movie just as much. I found it to be a witty and comical movie. The movie did an excellent job coming across with a subtle moral to this otherwise outrageous flick, which did not ruin the fun! A must watch for any urban woman.…

character-lover, Lover of quirky, unique films
I rented this last night thinking it was going to be great and it was so so. I thought Meryl Streep was great and the plot was typical. Girl not fitting in and then girl loving her job and then girl realizing she did not want to be like boss so quitting and going back to old life. It was dragged out although there was some funny parts and some great acting. I would recommend it just so you can say you saw it. Other than that it was not over the top.…

A cute "girly" movie, as expected. Loved Anne Hathaway's role. She looked beautiful. Also loved the wadrobe. Glenn Close played her part well, truly a cold-hearted devil. All and all an enjoyable flick for a night with the…
