Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt star in this quirky film about fashion (based on the novel).

In the fast paced, high society, of beauty, fashion and high heels, Andy Sachs is way out of her league when she accepts a job as assistant to Runway Magazine editor Miranda Priestly.  It's a high demand world where inner beauty is everything.  Andy (Hathaway) is an aspiring journalist who is financially forced to work for Miranda (Streep).  Cleverly vindictive and demanding, Miranda played anything but nice to be on top in an increasingly younger industry.  Along the way Andrea (Andy) finds what she needs to succeed in a world of Gucci and Gabbana, while almost losing herself and everyone who's ever meant anything to her.

Emily Blunt plays Miranda's other quirky assistant and really makes this movie take off.  Along with Stanley Tucci, part of Runways staff, these two play rave roles in this fun spirited, sinfully funny movie.  Hathaway and Blunt have a comical and spirited relationship.

The Devil Wears Prada is a fun film for all ages and not just for the fashion aware.  Anyone will enjoy this delightfully crazy movie that comes with a magnificent soundtrack.

Oh my gosh I totally forgot to put my opinion in this one. I loved this movie. I loved the music and the way they director of photography filmed this movie. The opening scene was very creative going between the different girls and the main actress getting ready for work/an interview. The actors were excellent and none seemed phony. I absolutely loved Emily Blunt as the snobby 1st assistant and of course Stanley Tucci is amazing in any movie. Thanks for calling me on that one. I loved everything about this movie. I watch it over and over. The extras are fun too!

Haha. Perhaps you can look it up online; I'm not sure. It's Downieville California. It is an absolutely gorgeous town in the mountains to go and visit if you're ever in the area. Quite a few people stumble upon it by accident and come back every year.

But remember now, the 1/2 hr town is small. There are 23K people - smaller than the college I atteneded.

I laugh at your half an hour. No just kidding. I grew up in a small town where the closest grocery store was an hour away.

I think the library does rent some DVDs, but it takes about a half hour to get there. I really do live in the middle of nowhere.

If you have a library that rents dvds that's definitely a good way to catch up!

Will have to add to my watch list. I'm way behind on films.

I like Ugly Betty. I don't have tv so I watch it online through ABC's full player.

The plot synopsis makes it sound a lot like "Ugly Betty." Good review! --Bob
